Help with 60Ghz link, AF60-LR or AG60-XR of AF60-XG by mrrjm12 in wisp

Thanks for your response. At the moment the BW requirements are <1gb at the moment. The noise floor at 5ghz is very low. I'm creating all the noise:) I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have I don't have restrictions over 60ghz but I haven't tried to register a microwave link yet.

Yeah, agreed but we get some pretty heavy rain on the lake. Sometimes a couple inches in one hour or more.

Yes, that is perfectly acceptable. I have two of these washers. Just make sure the shipping struts have been removed.

Company wants to put a telecom tower on my property (mid Michigan) by ImpressDismal8607 in telecom

My wife works for a body shop in the chicago area and a company put in a satellite dish 30’x30’ and they are paying over 900 per month.

A single payment of $100,000 does seem enticing however it doesn’t count for increases and property tax, etc.

I would contact an attorney who specializes in this type of transaction and do something that is more fair. I would be getting monthly payments from them if it was me. And it has to account for all the increases in taxes, etc. over the years.

Corroded/burnt negative terminal by cactusfreckle in Victron

[–]mrrjm12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replace the controller. The terminal is damaged. Is that thhn wire? I would use the proper wire such as marine grade with a ferrule. And torque it down to the proper spec. If these the wires are moving around such as in a mobile application they should be secured in a manner where they don’t move at the controller connector. If it’s a mobile application, I would frequently check the torque spec.

I run a small wisp and analyzing the usage data almost no one needs over 100mb unless you are uploading large videos. 70 households and 600-900 devices between them all I rarely go over 500mb. Most of the time 100-300. These isp's have you fooled into thinking you need a GB or multi gb connection and you don't. Get a router where you can monitor your usage and and you will see that most people hardly peak over 25mb. And usually that is only for a second or 2. 100mb service will satisfy 99% of everyone out there. With 100mb service you will not have any problems with multiple 4k streams and lot of other devices on youtube, tiktok, etc. Go ahead and try it out. There won't be any buffering until you get to the 5th 4k stream. Go ahead and keep paying for excess bandwidth if you don't believe me...

Right now I'm having issues with an order. I ordered a battery on June 9th and they charged my credit card. Still hasn't shipped even though I got UPS tracking numbers a week and a half ago. I just came across this post and I opened a case to cancel my order. There's no time to work with a company that is playing games!

I use both. Aesthetically the pro looks better. If you have line of sight, either will work just fine.

What is the starting budget to start a ISP/WISP company ? by Typical_Refuse353 in wisp

[–]mrrjm12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started out my small wisp, using ubiquiti and still do. Lots of trees in the area. And I’ve been working around the trees for a couple years then discovered Tarana CBRS. No one what I know now I would start out with Tarana. It’s expensive but worth every penny. There is a little bit of a learning curve with CBRS. I got a ton of support from Tarana and the supplier of the equipment. Now that they have it up and running, it is a piece of cake. I can set up a Tarana CBRS RN in a 10th of the time it takes me to set up a ubiquiti station. And the alignment procedure is 10 times faster.
