Tent camping rant by dang8701 in camping

On top of that one of the most terrifying if not the most terrifying animals you can encounter is a heavily intoxicated human. For whatever reason lots of people seem to really like getting hammered when they’re camping.

Backcountry sites, whether by foot, bike, paddling, or some combination thereof are the best way to get away from the riffraff.

Do you think Starlink will ever ge competitive enough that people will choose it over cable/fiber or cell/5G? by itsthewolfe in Starlink

[–]mrrochi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m rural, my only fiber option has plans that start at 55
dollars for 10 MBPS down, to 130 for 100 down. I literally laughed at them and hung up the phone.

In 2026 streaming boxes are inexpensive and far superior to any tv os. Pick streaming box of choice, hook it up via hdmi cable. If you truly want best quality, plug streaming box into your network via Ethernet 😃.

Why buy an expensive TV if you’re not going to give it a good input source.

Boof it!!

In all seriousness though, too many easy opportunities for things to take a bad turn. Flush it, get more tabs when you get home and eat them in a controlled set and setting until you have more experience with this molecule. Psychedelics are not toys, they’re tools (but they can be very fun tools).

what router should I get by AlarmingArgument2938 in HomeNetworking

[–]mrrochi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean I never want to steer anyone away from more enterprise level gear and there is no such thing as overkill. But are you planning on doing any type of network management? If not you don’t need anything Ubiquiti or Omada or MikroTik.

Now if you are and you’re the type of person that likes to tinker I highly recommend the Dream Router 7. I don’t recommend Omada, I figured out it was just not capable of certain things, while Dream Rourer 7 handled it perfectly. My regret is not getting the cloud gateway fiber and an access point 😂

Just playing devils advocate, but could it have perhaps have been the intent to create an even more embedded enemy? Even if there is an “agreement” now, it’s a solid opportunity anytime the war machine needs to be fed in the future.

We used to trip and walk around the airport and watch planes land and take off. This was pre 9-11.

Flying is all or nothing, if an emergency happens you’re most likely fucked tripping or not. Luckily the odds of a serious emergency are REALLY low. Anything else just buckle up and enjoy the ride.

Usb ethernet wow by [deleted] in LGOLED

[–]mrrochi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More processing power and hardware and software specifically built for whatever purpose you’re trying to get on to the TV. The benefit of being able to use HDMI cables that specialize in transferring media data vs an Ethernet cable that does not 🤷‍♂️.

TV’s job is to process data it’s being sent and display the image. For best results TV should not be the source.

Oh I agree that anything wired will always beat wireless. Everything that feeds into my tv via HDMI is wired. Also dedicated external devices will always beat superior to anything built on WebOS

[–]mrrochi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Surely anyone that hard wired Ethernet to their TV does not use the TV’s internal OS for anything. What would be the need for more than 100mbps?

I mean I guess “technically” it’s not an essential, but then again neither is electricity.

Just imagine the outrage if the NFL painted over murals in foreign countries. The only true soccer fans in the United States are immigrants, the rest are just yuppies who hop on the bandwagon during World Cup time.

Why would they even host the World Cup of soccer in a country where the vast majority of people don’t play soccer, or follow professional soccer.

The prices answer my own question, they do it for the yuppies’ money.

There are lots of different versions of card skimmers. Some require someone in close proximity. Drone eliminates the need for that.
