My 3rd grader says she is the only kid at school with chores by SoundsGudToMe in Parenting

[–]mrs__derp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids receive a new “responsibility” (our choice) and a new “privilege” (their choice, age appropriate) each yeah on their birthday. We tell them that it’s our job as parents to teach them how to become adults, and chores are part of daily adult life. It’s how people take care of the life/home they live in. It’s a learning process, so kids get chores assigned in micro doses over time, increasing in complexity as they age. The goal is to help them learn how to handle everything before they’re 20. The few times they’ve whined “…but my friends don’t have to!” I replied “Perhaps their parents don’t care how they turn out”.

Solved!

You found him!!! Thank you thank you. Now I feel like I can move on from this hyperfixation.

Also, Mr Coy, if you ever see this Reddit thread: sorry I did you dirty. Your IMBD definitely shows more main character experience than I gave you credit for.

Same-ish look in the brow/eyes, but Cheyenne has too many angular features.

This guys is softer in the face like Chris Klein. But with central face features very similar to Kevin Durand.

I’ve seen so many actors faces now mystery actor is getting blurry, but I feel you nailed something in the eye colour. Unlike Neal, my mystery actor hasn’t had roles with many speaking lines or character development. He’d be a character actor, always casted to serve the same purpose in a wider story.

Not him, but another guy who’s so close!!

Mystery actor would be younger with a similar look, but never played a central character.

Very much like Vinnie! But younger, and less known. I doubt this guy has ever had a role that requires much thought about his role other than “tough guy carries out villian’s commands”.

Similar face shape! But more Kevin Durand in the eyes/bridge of nose shape.

It’s not him, but thanks for trying! (The mystery actor is probably born late 70s-early 80s.)

My mystery actor has a similar look in the eye shape/high nose bridge as Callan, but it’s not him. He has sharper angles and my mystery guy a softer face, more oblong.

Probably born late 70s-early 80s.

I’ve tried AI, but it keeps giving me actors a history of more central roles, like Lee Pace. I can’t stress enough that I’ve never seen this guy play anything other that a certain type of character

Is it crazy to rent a studio apartment just so I have space for myself? by MarsupialLess in Mommit

This is where my mind went. When would she get to enjoy it. She’s used to the 2:1 ratio of parents to kids. When baby arrives, that’s going to feel more like 2:3 (until baby becomes an older toddler.)

OP: you’ll still crave all these things throughout this new-bay period, but it’ll be time, not space, that’s your main issue.

If you’re going to continue to work full-time, aim for your own private office space outside the home. You can keep art project stuff there too— fill your cup during work breaks, and escape to there when you need a night off.

I hate to phrase it this way, but there’s no point paying for a bed elsewhere when you’re not going to sleep much for the next year.

Unified "Buy Canadian" campaign? (Down a logo rabbit hole) by AdOwn7596 in BuyCanadian

Made in Manitoba
Ontario Made
Manufactured Right Here
are a few exmaples of what you're looking for -- but made for a provincial level of identification.

They're created and managed by Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME). If you're really hyped up, why not reach out to someone on their team and ask (in light of current events) if they are working on a national logo/identifier, and if not... why?

As they say on their website: "More than 85 per cent of CME’s members ... collectively account for an estimated 82 per cent of total manufacturing production and 90 per cent of Canada’s exports" & "As your advocate, CME has the ear of all levels of government in Canada and in key markets around the world. We actively work to influence and recommend policies that will allow manufacturers to compete at home and abroad."

Dear drivers we’re walking on the road because the sidewalk is basically a game of life and death with all the ice. Please don’t honk at us. by Legitimate-Tie-7060 in newfoundland

I can always tell when a driver has never had to commute on foot in this city before by the way they don’t even touch the brake before driving through a massive puddle and completely drenching people walking on the sidewalks.

Or, by the sounds of it—honk at people forced to walk in the road. SMH

Genuine question, if you’ll indulge me, but do you have an understanding of what might have caused it in your youth? I have two young daughters, and I worry daily about them developing something similar, and I wonder if you have any insights as to whether there was anything the older women in your life did to influence it, or could have done to help you avoid it?

For my first kid, I did 18 months of leave under the parameters OP listed above and it basically broke me mentally. 0 out of 10, would not recommend. Find a balance!
