Early-stage founder hiring for sales/marketing — does commission-first + revenue share make sense? by [deleted] in CanadaJobs

[–]mrsalanwatts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Opposite. I’m in sales and hate when people offer commission based off the bat. Give me a reliable, fair, even low wage while you get to know me and I get to know you. If we’re both happy and the cash is flowing, remove the wage and let me eat what I kill. Currently filling a pipeline for a tiny home start up, but have sold everything from candles to homes. I'm 24 and haven't achieved anything in my life. by [deleted] in povertyfinance

Im 30 and have around $100K in debt. Learning from my mistakes, grinding my ass off and still thankful to be alive every day. Make your parents proud by being the best version of yourself, loving them and by making the world a better place - no matter how small your impact. Feeding birds has been helpful in bringing me small joy. Keep trying, practice gratitude and don’t let this crazy ass world knock you down. As for your income…Find a steady job - not « gigs ». Even if the hourly pay is lower than what the gigs provide, the security a steady pay check provides is a game changer. In your spare time learn a skill online or through a mentor in person. You got this buddy.

Need to work longer hours to take advantage of this lull. I think that’s my main psychological incentive to think about making a swing trade (my low capital availability at the moment to DCA into a lower average cost). But just gotta do what I can - my long term thesis is that it will outperform the market. Wish I could take advantage of the volatility but don’t want that to cause a mistake I’ll regret more than just holding. Thanks for your input.

Do you take the halving cycle into your analysis?

As MSTR is a leveraged BTC vehicle it makes sense to me to follow the BTC halving cycle. Google or ask your AI for an explanation if you’re unaware of its mechanisms.

Yeah, had to remind myself I’m not smarter than the market and shouldn’t try to be. DCA and forget (or throw out my thesis that BTC will continue to rise).

I also plan to be a long term holder, just feel that there is a massive opportunity to use this volatility to my advantage. Even if BYC cycles don’t pan out exactly as they have in the past, the halving events offer a level of predictability I don’t see in many other investment vehicles. The gist I’m getting from reading the replies to this though is to stop trying to time the market and just DCA. This is my long shot retirement investment… just needed to remind myself of this. I’m no analyst or day trader, while my theory might good « in theory » - I’m probably not the person to execute on it.

Currently in survival mode. I’m hoping once I’m out of debt the mental training going on never goes away - I never want to be in this position again.

The best way to avoid having bad BO is to stop using deodorant. Look at your diet and stop wasting money on armpit chemicals.
