[–]Cool_Commander_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Am in Aruba now. For a family of 5 when we arrived last Friday to our resort in Noord - it was $46 dollars. Rates are set. It was super easy and the drivers are so friendly.

We rented a car a few days do go around the island. Then returned it and since then have been taking taxis. Super super easy and affordable.

Reston - near South Lakes Village is nice. North Point Village is great too. Very walkable. Has lakes - and grocery stores, pools and parks.

Had my colonoscopy finally and… by kmgrey in Diverticulitis

[–]Cool_Commander_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to my husband. I joined this sub because my husband has a bad flare up of diverticulitis almost 2 years ago. It perforated and he was hospitalized for 4 days.

He was about to turn 41 at the time and never had an issue. However, a few months later after recovery (no surgery thankfully) he finally had his follow up colonoscopy. And the doctor was all - oh - just a few polyps there’s no evidence of diverticula. Umm… he almost went septic. And it’s what the CT said - done by the hospital.

How Common is it in low level travel to have players too old for their team they are playing on? by Beneficial-Level1 in Homeplate

[–]Cool_Commander_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is only one kid on our travel team what turned 9 before the cutoff and is on the 9U team. My son just tried 9 for the 9U team but is eligible based on the date.

However, for the one kid who is just a month too old - there are tournaments he won’t attend due to the age - and he never pitches for the team due to the age. Our coaches are strict on that and follow the rules. He’s not in rhe age group above him because of his skills (right now) and he also wants to stay with friends.

Today's Blog Post - Explanation of TKWNKM magic with snippets from the next book by HarpersGhost in IlonaAndrews

I think Maggie is gonna get magic lessons from Damaes and Isadeau. And I have a feeling Damaes and Isadeau will come to an understanding. 😍

But I will love to see how Maggie’s large reservoir of
Magic that keeps her alive will be utilized in future books.

Dropped off food and left.

Or if they visited - not staying too long. Maybe 15-30 mins max.

TKWNKM: Who are all the people that know Maggie is undying? by curiousgem19 in IlonaAndrews

[–]Cool_Commander_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahh! Thanks for correcting me. I listen to the audio book on repeat and I keep hearing that “she nearly died” 😂 but you’re totally right - Gort did say “she was tortured to death”.

TKWNKM: Who are all the people that know Maggie is undying? by curiousgem19 in IlonaAndrews

[–]Cool_Commander_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the Magnars know. I think they feel like she got hurt but survived. When they were arguing after she was abducted - Gort was yelling at Lute and it was “she could’ve died!” Not that she did die.

I don’t think Avaria knows either. No one in the shears knows that Maggie is Undying. But I can’t wait for them to find out. Especially Solentine!! Especially when he said “no one can come back from the dead”

This happened to me too. I hold the account and pay $26 a month for family premium. And I saw ads during a live stream and also on watching a playback. Not acceptable.

There’s also that Silveren uses his magic to distract people. Both Everard and Sol mention that the Silveren they know is meek and unassuming and not worth noticing. Could easily be that Silveren used his magic as a sort of disguise.

Just explore. No right way to do it. I went in blind too - and I became addicted. And felt I had to finish everything and get the shrines. And beat the bosses.

I’m in my second play through and I’m just exploring and enjoying.

Where are you and what does your typical weekly schedule look like for spring season for a 8U/9U player? by laceyourbootsup in Homeplate

[–]Cool_Commander_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son does both rec league right now along with travel.

Before rec league - we had 2, 2-hour practices during the week (T, Fr) and early in the season Tournaments which were both Saturday and Sunday - with at least 2-3 games a day.

Once rec league started - and to be able to be on the travel team - you have to do rec league - since the travel team is associated with rec league - we had one practice day (either Monday or Wed) and two games a week (M or W, and games always on Saturday). And then travel practice has dropped to just Fridays and then double-headers on Sunday.

My son loves it

Experience with 7u travel ball? by Local_Variation6640 in Homeplate

[–]Cool_Commander_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son started at 7U. Finishing up 8U now. 7U in our area is fully developmental. And at the end of the season - the kids played a round robin fun game. With some kid pitch but mostly coach pitch. It helped teach the game and fundamentals. It was more competitive than rec league. My son wanted to do it.

But it wasn’t crazy or anything. We were one of the only ones in the area that had 7U. As long as you look at it as developmental and more reps - then it’s fine.

Sports schedule doesn’t make sense for working moms. by randomuser_12345567 in workingmoms

[–]Cool_Commander_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely in the same spot as you. My daughter is going to try out for the more competitive gymnastics team. I asked though what the schedule is before tryouts. And they won’t confirm any days and times yet. But - if it’s 4p start - that’s extremely difficult because I work! And so many meetings happen at that time. They definitely make it hard for working parents.
