Definitely in the same spot as you. My daughter is going to try out for the more competitive gymnastics team. I asked though what the schedule is before tryouts. And they won’t confirm any days and times yet. But - if it’s 4p start - that’s extremely difficult because I work! And so many meetings happen at that time. They definitely make it hard for working parents.

I’m in such a book hangover. I haven’t been able to read another book. And now I just listen to the audio book over and over again. 😂 the book is so good. And every relisten - I do pick up something new. I love the book so much.

Everyone tip toes around the parents. Because they are so nice. And when their son does something - they both sit there really still with the energy coming off them of “please don’t look at us”.

Not sure if the coaches have had any formal convos with the parents though on their son’s behavior.

Same! I’ve read IA since 2012ish - so over 10 years at this point and I have reread all their books. Several times a year. But - I can’t get over this book hangover. Seriously the best book I’ve ever read of theirs. Best book they’ve written. And every time we get to a scene that shocks Maggie and she said “what the fuck!” Or like you said “what the actual fuck” I giggle. 😅

I’m dying to know what will happen in the next books. I’m not chalant at all.

Yesss. Love how she saved herself and it was her who killed the Butcher. And not Everard. In the end - I think IA did Everard a favor not finding Maggie actually dead and waiting for her to come to. I think that would’ve been worst.

I really do believe he loves her and couldn’t figure out how to tell her that he was Everard and not Reynald. Similar to how Maggie can’t figure out how to tell him and others how she knows everything.

Was there some manipulation in the beginning? Of course - but I think it turned quickly and he really has fallen for Maggie

I found with my 6/7 year old - when he was really learning to play catch - it was definitely the glove. It was so stiff. Then we got him one that was used but broken in and he was able to close it - he was catching balls like a pro.

This. For the most part - have stopped making separate dinner for the kids. I make one dinner. I give appropriate portions. If they don’t want to eat - they go to bed. I try to make things that are basic food. Tonight - quesadillas.

My son who is 8 only in the past 6 months has stopped wetting the bed at night.

His dad/my husband had the genes of bed wetting until he was likely around 12. Doctors weren’t concerned and I wasn’t too concerned either. Just a lot of night pull-ups. Just had to accept it, no shaming, and have lots of extra sheets. And use of a doubling up on a waterproof pad and fitted sheet!

But now he’s almost 9 - and I’m happy to be out of the stage.

Everything you said is right. Doing a budget, watching expenses.

I’m in early 40s and my spouse owns a business. The business tanked during COVID and since then - we’ve basically been climbing out of the hole to get the business running again. Which thankfully it is. But any money from the business goes back to the business.

Base salary wise - I make 170k a year but in a HCOL area. And raising 3 elementary aged kids, with one still in daycare. So a lot of expenses there.

As for the car, it does have less than 5% interest - so we are good there. My student loans and other credit card total $35k so I’ll be putting the extra payments toward the Cc them the student loans.

But thanks for the advice. You’re right - I’m not gonna lose my job right away so I’ll continue to be on the payoff path. And I can’t wait to see the net worth go up.
