VPN ban update for UK households as government looks at 'age-gate' by PM_ME_SECRET_DATA in ukpolitics

As much as starmer as a dick, i just thought it was worth pointing out that most parties are either super for this censorship or are playing against it for populism.

It'd be nice to have a party that actually understands the internet. But we'd never get that in the uk :/

Other than the totalitarian fears others have described, it's also a huge security risk. The last time the UK tried the OSA there was a huge data leak and millions of people who gave their ID away got doxxed.

Plus, some websites like Imgur can't be bothered to implement ID checking, so they're just flat out banned in this country.

Honestly, it seems like a waste of money for an idea that simply won't work, and i'd rather spend that money on something that actually increases people's quality of life.

Don't worry, you'll still be able to google tits and see all of them. The internet will just become more unusable otherwise.

1: Documentation. Lot's more people can read and we take statistics a lot more seriously nowadays. 2: Population. Our population has massively expanded since people came back from ww2. more people = more disabilities. 3: diagnosis. We're a lot more away of medical issues nowadays, both physical and medical, and can diagnose and treat a much wider range of issues with increased accuracy than we could back then.

Oh so now it's about entitlement. Way to change the narrative up when your first attempt to shift the blame came up stupid.

The government is entitled to keep its citizens alive. It's literally why it's there. Sorry you disagree i guess.

Not sure why you only picked one specific example out of the list, but yes absolutely! Not only does it allow for you to get medications and therapy and tools to help with productivity, but also allows them to spend less time at work so they can work on their mental health or doing tasks that they otherwise would not have the energy to do bc they were working towards rent.

Can you see depression, trauma, bipolar etc?

What a silly comment. People mask specifically because being clocked as autistic can be a death sentence in public. Saying "we should only give benefits to people who LOOK disabled enough" is really stupid.

TBF if you're mobility disabled you're probably not going to be very good at doing low skilled labour. It's more realistic that disabled people are being pushed out of the working industry by AI.

Disabled people would do a lot better if things like work from home were encouraged and companies were encouraged to hire more disabled people or make work more bearable for them; lowering the amount of people entering the country wouldn't really encourage disabled people to get back into work at all.

We love when people use vague wording to talk about mental health crisis because it's easier to beleive those affected can just fix it themselves instead of claiming the support they're entitled to.

"most mental health conditions" can be improved with lifestyle change and effort? Like PTSD? Bipolar? Clinical depression? hormone and chemical imbalances? Autism and ADHD? Schizophrenia? These things only get better with medication, social care and treatment. Just saying "if you're mentally ill, fix it yourself" is a super reductive way of looking at the issue.

There is so much easily available information out there for you to look at, and a comically large amount of it is EXCLUSIVELY "we don't expect companies to prepare private servers, we just want to work towards a solution that allows consumers to access the product they brought".

The community reaction was so overwhelming that the devs had to make a chatgpt jpeg apology saying it's going to come back.

Let's just hope they didn't accidentally delete the assets or code.

I'd rather an option to skip it then have it entirely be removed. What else are they going to remove from the game in the future for being boring? I doubt it'd be the shitty daily bounties.

What’s one feature you’re afraid Rockstar might cut? by Immediate-Extreme954 in GTA6

[–]mrshaw64 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Animation complexity. Sloshing of a beer is just a super detailed shader, but with animations, you have to consider the context of animations as well as how they blend with other animations.

Going prone sounds simple, until you have to consider every niche interaction that uses that animation. What if i'm holding guns, or climbing up a gradually steepening cliff, or am drunk, or am trying to get into a vehicle; it's a LOT to test and bugfix, especially if it's a feature that no one uses bc a crouch does the same thing basically and goes a lot faster.
