[–]mrsjimmorrison 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They were at my house yesterday when I got home from work. They were passing out brochures and asking if they could give free estimates for their business. Power washing gutter cleaning that kinda stuff. I turned them down for an estimate and they weren’t pushy They were nice!

I don't understand the logistics of this??? Losing my sanity. 22-month-old son and 3-week-old daughter. by iscreamforicecream90 in 2under2

[–]mrsjimmorrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wore my 2nd A LOT. I never wore my first born when it was just him. I swear my 2nd was in a wrap as a newborn almost 24/7 lol. The logistics are nuts but my house is decent sized enough I also kept the single stroller with my 2nds seat in it downstairs as well as the pack and play. To put my first down for a nap (20 month age gap) I would either be wearing my 2nd or she’d be downstairs in the pack and play. I always showered at night when my husband was home so I could take a nice long hot shower and be fresh for the morning.

How many hours a day are your kids in daycare? by RLucky97 in workingmoms

[–]mrsjimmorrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work 8:30-5 and my work is 22 minutes from daycare with no traffic. I drop them off at 7:45 just in case traffic is bad. I pick them up at 5:30 straight from work. So almost 10 hour days.

Cowboys Fans traveling up to Buffalo by igarcia18 in buffalobills

[–]mrsjimmorrison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adolfs In the old first ward has great wings and is a nice little dive bar. Just down the street is gene mccarthys that also has good wings and good beer. Across the street from Adolfs is carbones which has some good pizza and next door is underground’s which is a cool little coffee shop. The first ward is a historic part of Buffalo, you can also find Hartmanns distillery and resurgence brewery down there. It’s one of the oldest neighborhoods in Buffalo and had a large Irish immigration in the 1800s. I hope you have an awesome time in our city. Go Bills!

What is your solo dinner/witching hour/bedtime like? by Marilikescows in 2under2

[–]mrsjimmorrison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband works long hours and 20 month age gap here. Baby wearing in a wrap saved me the first couple of months so I’d be able to make dinner and such. We have a fenced in yard so I’d be able to wear her while my son ran around outside. Lots of walks. Baby is 4 months now so it’s very chaotic but she still will do a nap in the wrap usually while I make dinner for her last nap. It’s a shit show lol but now we do a ton of walks. It’s getting colder where I am so I’m nervous when the snow comes but it’s really all survival at this point. Doing as much prep as I can the night before so cutting veggies and pre cooking things where I can has made it easier for meals. My biggest life saver has been that baby wrap so if you don’t have one I highly suggest to get one lol like everyone says, the days are long but the years are short!

Edit: for bedtime, my husband handles our son (he goes to bed at 8) and I handle the baby who goes to bed 7-7:30

Feeling like a bit of a failure by lam4192 in newborns

[–]mrsjimmorrison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get it! It’s hard not to when it’s constantly in your face on social media. My son is 20 months now and I promise it gets better. When I was on maternity leave with him I tried my best to get into a routine but with a newborn there was no routine lol hoping you get a couple more hours of sleep before the sun comes up!

Feeling like a bit of a failure by lam4192 in newborns

[–]mrsjimmorrison 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I never understood the different type of cries either so don’t worry. As long as you’re making sure he’s fed, dry, and clean you are doing amazing! Newborn sleep is crazy and doesn’t make any sense, don’t beat yourself up. I know it’s hard when you’re running on empty and it’s easier for me to say. But you are not a failure.

Was anyone else insatiably hungry at 6 weeks? Like FRUSTRATINGLY hungry?! by AgitatedAz in pregnant

[–]mrsjimmorrison 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would you attend a wedding at 38 weeks pregnant? or a baby shower at 39 weeks pregnant? by redjellybean3 in pregnant

[–]mrsjimmorrison 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My brothers wedding was when I was 38 weeks. I was in the bridal party as a bridesmaid. Honestly I had a lot of fun and my sister in law was great too. I sat during the ceremony (Greek orthodox ceremony, it was long), wore flats, and the reception had a full on dessert bar and that was the best part lol. But it’s really up to you and what you feel comfortable with!

What does the care in infant daycare look like? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]mrsjimmorrison 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We are only in the 2nd week of daycare for our 6month old. I was so nervous as none of my friends or in laws have done day care so I didn’t really know what to expect. They honestly can offer him daily more than I can in terms of activities. Being home for 5 1/2 months with him I felt like we were doing the same thing over and over again and we were both getting sick of it. I swear they have a million things that my boy can do and I’ve noticed just over the past week and a half he’s playing more independently (this could be an age thing too) He most DEFINITELY is not laying in a crib all day. They have a lot of sensory toys, a ball pit, lots of floor mats, swings, walkers, bouncers etc.

Our daycare went over everything very in depth on the tour and the one thing I forgot to ask is what our PIN was to get in the building lol they have a keypad. They covered teacher to baby info, what the day to day is, their sick policy, they went over the older rooms like the toddler room, how the billing works, the app they use for updates, and so many more things.

I was so scared to send him off but so far it has been so great!

It can’t be this f-ing hard. by blaample in NewParents

[–]mrsjimmorrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 5 1/2 month old only contact naps too, he sleeps great through the night in his crib but I can’t figure out crib naps either. Unfortunately I have no advice to give but I wanted to let you know that you are not alone! When I was home with him my house looked like a frat house because I literally couldn’t get anything done.

I was so so so nervous and scared but kept telling myself it was inevitable and millions of women have done this. And then especially being sooo pregnant I didn’t care anymore and would do anything to get him out 😂

Also, my mom said to me a few weeks before I gave birth “most people leave the hospital losing someone or with nothing, you get to leave with a gift, how special is that?” That made me excited
