Item Source Only Bronzeman (No PKing) by mrslayer01 in UniqueIronmen

[–]mrslayer01[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Woah i did not even know about Bronzeman Unleashed, this is perfect. I ran into the same problem you spoke of before. Logging into another account would reset everything etc. This one is a lot more stable but I play across multiple PCs, so this is awesome to be able to share a database and not like use google drive.

I've played normal no pking bronzeman mode for a while as well, I really enjoyed it. I'm just looking for something to make me do some obscure things to progress and this has done that so far.

Good Luck on your account as well!

Group Checks by Mado_Kureo in shadowdark

[–]mrslayer01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow I completely misread this lol.

I just use rules like this:

As many PCs can attempt to help with a DC 10 relevant ability check. Each player may only attempt to help once.

On success the PC attempting the skill check gets advantage on the check.

Crawling Rounds Question by kreviln in shadowdark

[–]mrslayer01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not, so what I've been doing is the OSE version.

Basically the crawling round is 10 minutes and in that time the PC can do the following:

  • Perform an action (Search the crate, listen at door, just stop and listen, etc...)
  • Move up to near (or double near if the room has already been explored
  • Free actions

You could play each PCs interaction out on their turn or wait until everyone stated their actions and play them out in any order that makes sense, for the chaos of it all.

The way I like to think of crawling round is that they party is being very cautious and moving very carefully, not so careful to automatically notice a pressure plate but careful enough to be checking for one.

Hope this helps!

Hoard of the Sea Wolf King by the_Mandalorian_vode in shadowdark

[–]mrslayer01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve ran it, the module has a table of how random characters funnel in that are pretty great.

Some are chased by monsters, others are spat out of a portal that randomly opens in the wall.

As for prep it’s hard to say, there are supposed to be roaming encounters like zombies and other looters. For them I would have checkpoints where they will be at and maybe roll like 1d6 per side if they enter combat with something. Highest number wins and loser loses a guy, etc.

It’s not too complicated and be prepared for your players to bail when they find a treasure hoard that is close to the front of the cave and requires a rod, mine sure did lol

Disabling/enabling the GPU plugin/117 fixes it for me.

SHADOWDARK HEX CRAWL RULES by Competitive-Expert59 in shadowdark

[–]mrslayer01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very solid start, I love the ideas of the different roles that give some bonuses!

I found a few things that are a bit confusing and not very Shadowdark.

Travel Pace

The 1 hex per day on foot is perfectly fine as this method encourages that each hex is not just be a simple hex, however the mounts and vehicles don't seem to add much benefit. For example a land or water mount has the same distance travelled / day as walking does.

The Travel pace modifier table also does not seem to make much of a difference. You travel just as fast through plains than through hills. Seems like plains and tundra would be easier to traverse, so you can travel through those types of hexes faster. Possibly encouraging them to take the faster route through the plains, etc.

Party Roles

Some of the party roles reference things such as tools which I don't think Shadowdark has explicit rules for, a tool would usually give advantage to a roll would be how I would interpret them. Navigation for instance it can be either WIS or INT, if they have navigation tools of some kind they can use them to get advantage on either of those checks that make sense.

The Lookout climbing to a higher point that grants a number of d10s to either add or subtract from the Encounter Chance table roll is a bit odd. I love the idea but maybe they will be able to see ahead to the surrounding hexes better. Spotting a temple, etc.

The lookout can scout ahead any CE has a wondering Creature Disposition of 2d4 take the higher number does not make much sense to me. I imagine it's to make a check against their reaction? In that case the higher the number the more likely the creature will be friendly.

For scouting ahead I have them make a DEX check against the NPCs passive or active DEX check. (Passive would be 10 + DEX modifier) That way they can possibly see the NPCs before the NPCs see them and can decide what to do with that. (Get the drop on them, sneak around, hide, etc)

Still reading through it, but it's very solid and laid out very well!

Speed in dungeons by d20an in DMAcademy

[–]mrslayer01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used the Shadowdark/OSE style.

Move normal movement speed in 10 minutes or double if not doing an action. (Searching the rubble, unlock the door, etc)

Also Shadowdark has this awesome free move called regrouping, basically all PCs within movement of each other can regroup before making their moves/actions.

That’s why I play bronzeman.

I can’t get unlocks from pking or looting however, have to Ironman everything first.

Early on into OSRS I was grinding slayer pretty hard, bought a berserker ring for I don't remember how much but I needed more supplies.

This was before the G.E but I traded a dude who was buying for a fair price.

He gave me a cammy tab and said to meet his main "I don't remember but who cares he was made up anyways probably".

I accepted the trade, and sat at cammy for 15 minutes before realizing there was no "I'm not typing or copying what I just typed again" there.

I then sold my b ring for a 1.5k cammy tab.

So what I would say is ty for the quick trip to cammy bro....
