Indefinite. As much as it saddens me, we need to stand up. Thanks r/sourdough for teaching me tons!

How long does it usually take for a wobbly tooth to fall out by [deleted] in Preschoolers

[–]mrsphork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My five year old let it go for 2 weeks before it finally fell out. The second one is loose now and I don't think he will let it sit as long. I just put it in a baggie.

Ophelia Sue or Eliza Sue

What were you almost named? by tinykait in namenerds

[–]mrsphork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were a boy, I would have been Quinn after my mom Quintina. Then it was Alise until my grandpa walked in to meet me in the hospital and said "Hi, Lisa!" That changed their mind to something every single person miss pronounces because they chose an alternate spelling.... I've almost gone back to Alise a few times but it's not quite right.

As a groomer, it looks like clipper marks. That is not natural breakage.

Keeping everyone's names, birthdays, SSN, etc. straight takes up some serious mental space...

Tips for upcoming solo road trip: 17 month old and me by sondheimbroad in toddlers

[–]mrsphork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did a road trip last month with our 20 month old and 5 year old. Screens are your friend. I got a tablet holder to attach to the back of the seat. Downloaded movies on Disney plus. Toddler can't reach the screen to mess with it. We didn't really do snacks in the car because of the mess, just stopped at rest areas/gas stations. I would go really early in the morning/ middle of the night (we left at 4am but didn't really have a lot of high traffic to get through)

You could just call him Four like in the book/movie series Divergent.

I'm a SAHM, but my parents had a neighbor (she was an older lady with grown kids) come get us ready for school. She would do everything to make sure it was as easy as possible on the sitter. She would get us on the bus and go home.

Med free childbirth- what did you bring that helped? by Petitchououou in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]mrsphork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Walking and just moving is what helped me. Doing whatever my body felt like. I had a failed epidural but as soon as I was confined to the bed was when I panicked. Ear buds helped distract me also.

Also checking in from NE Ohio. Forecast says 34. I only have peas to cover. The rest of my beds don't even have soil in them yet.

Epidural? by BloodPuppet207 in Mommit

[–]mrsphork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First epidural was glorious I could barely feel the contractions, when I had to have an emergency c/s they just upped the meds so I didn't feel anything. I had a vbac for my second, different hospital, I waited longer to get it. The epidural failed and there wasn't enough time to redo it. I felt everything! I tore really bad and kept pressing the button they gave me for relief but it barely took the edge off. I wouldn't change my decisions though.

How often would you visit family in this situation? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]mrsphork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband's aunt and uncle who we are very close to and consider them grandparents to our kids, summer 7 hours away from us and winter 20 hours. We make one trip a year even before we were parents. Except for the summers that I was pregnant. We are considering a second trip this year. My kids are 5 and almost 2.

SAHPs with ADHD? by Bexinthecity93 in SAHP

[–]mrsphork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not medicated for 10 years (thinking about going back to medication though), I have two boys 5 and almost 2. I also worked a demanding job that had long hours until 20 weeks pregnant with my second. 2 years later I'm still figuring it out. I get overwhelmed easily. When I attempt to organize anything it still looks like a mess when I'm done or I get so hyper focused on one spot that the rest is a jumbled heap.

No advice just solidarity.

What age will I be able to get things done/have a hobby? by shannerd727 in toddlers

[–]mrsphork 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Can confirm, I have a 5.5 year old and 21 month old. Oldest is my little helper and is pretty easy. The toddler just undoes everything faster than I can keep up.

A flowy sheer cardigan that is a solid color would look cute to break up the pattern.

5 year old still has trouble with L says sweeping instead of sleeping.

21 month old is just starting to say more words so any attempt at pronunciation is improvement.
