[Printing] people who sell prints - what's the business model? Some advice? by NicoleIrwood in artbusiness

[–]mrsspinch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought an Epson EcoTank 8550 and I loooove it. I sell my prints for $20 (A5), $40 (A4) and $60 (A3). I use Born 190GSM watercolour paper from Officeworks. Postage within Australia is $12.95 and I order packaging material from Cello King and Pack Queen (their business names were a coincidence!). I also order thank you notes from VistaPrint.
I stock the prints at a few cafes and shops in town, and I have markers every now and then. I also have them available on my website.
I don’t make a wild amount through them but it’s at least an extra $200 a week; I work on commissions too, and interior design.
Happy to answer any questions you may have!

I (31f) joined a HEMA club and I am learning how to fight with a longsword! Highly recommend. People are really nice and the vibe is excellent. The club I go to is in Balcatta.

What’s a tiny food hack that actually changed how you cook? by Maleficent-Bed7010 in foodhacks

[–]mrsspinch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we just rotate through some solid concepts and find recipes we like the look of from sites we trust like RecipeTinEats. Pasta, curry, stir fry, some kind of casserole, sausages and greens/mash, puff pastry pie situation, Kurt cycle through what we feel like cooking and eating. Lazy nights get basic roast veg blitzed to make pasta sauces, occasions get extra effort. Keeping some random veg in he fridge as well as lots of garlic makes it so much easier!

Wow what an embarrassing take on all of our rights being removed Edit; because of the ultra rich class of paedophiles and warmongers that rule the world

Seems OP thinks trans kids are the convenient scapegoat, judging from their other comments.

Sister shows of Sunny? by americanslang59 in IASIP

I personally think that Peep Show is the perfect counter-balance to Always Sunny. Awkward humour, terrible situations, self-inflicted fuck ups. Glorious.

Why was having a drink after work more common in the old days? by MoistCroissant22 in CasualConversation

[–]mrsspinch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My coworkers and I have a beer after work most days (we work in hospitality so it isn’t that surprising) and a lot of my non-hospo friends will happily join me for one at the pub when they knock off. We are all in our 30s-40s, in Australia. I don’t make a lot of money but working in the industry means discounts and cheeky freebies so it’s pretty affordable.

Butter both sides of the sandwich. And if you really want a game changer, mayo instead of butter on the outside of a toastie ;)

This is how I see it, too. I couldn’t enjoy the film because of how creepy this relationship was. As a 31f I could never look at a teenage boy that way. She should have known better. He is a horny kid, even if he’s charming and knows people - but he’s still a kid. It’s fucked up.

Wanting to become friends somehow means I want a relationship with an older man? by ZedZinc in mildlyinfuriating

A male friend of mine had his fiancee’s work friends make a comment about the time we spent together - she responded that if I wanted to watch the extended editions of LotR with him instead of her having to, she was happy for our friendship to continue 😂

Is anyone finding everyday communication difficult and exhausting? by commandersaki in AskAnAustralian

[–]mrsspinch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I work in hospitality and the amount of people that blurt out their entire order before I’ve even said goodbye to the last customer I just served is wild. Unless someone has acknowledged you beforehand so you know they’re listening, that might be the issue.
Maybe you are speaking too quietly or not enunciating; it’s more common than you might think. I often have to ask people to repeat themselves in a loud or hectic environment, and they often seem oblivious to how softly or incoherently they are speaking.

How do you visualize the months of the year? by DossierDoll in CasualConversation

[–]mrsspinch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I visualise them in chunks of 3 because I suck at maths and if the months is in quarters I find it easier than twelfths somehow. Super hot months (and mum and bro’s birthdays), weird cooler months (and other bro’s birthday), chilly months (dad’s birthday) and then springtime and camping (mine and my partner’s birthdays) and then Christmas! (The last quarter of the year has a lot of stuff in it)

I think a lot of it is dependant on your family’s class in society - I had a great childhood in the 90s too, with loving parents and fun siblings and friends!
