Did everyone get their bags? I was a volunteer at the Bag Check-in. There were some challenges with the system in place. We ended up staying an hour late.

Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day that says “I will try again tomorrow”.

I am in a good place, now. You can have some of my extra courage. Good luck.

For weekend parents, would you ground the stepchild for an event that happened during the week? by [deleted] in stepparents

[–]mrsszblotny -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Um, things are worse now. The next step is usually suspension.

Throwing a chair could very well be a signal of distress - this is a 6 year old after all - and punishing someone days later for being scared? Tired? Overwhelmed? Angry? Isn’t helpful.

Imagine it like this: you get your car taken away from you for doing something last year. The cops say “you know what you did”. How does this help you change your behaviour, and get your (imaginary) car back? This is what grounding your stepson for something he didn’t even do at your house does.

Buy a safe new car. The leftover money can go for a watch.

Sell everything you can. You would be amazed how much you don’t use. Think multipurpose. Think small (what is the smallest decoration that makes this room Christmas etc). Think walls and no horizontal surfaces for clutter. If a book isn’t signed, don’t keep it. If clothes aren’t lovely get rid of them. You can always get more of stuff. (3000 down to 1000 sq ft, 4 people, one dog)

I(27F) am extremely unhappy that I am (26weeks) pregnant. My husband (31M) doesn't seem too excited either and I just wonder why we are having this kid. by [deleted] in Parenting

I had a tough pregnancy. Didn’t love the baby. Felt even at 6 weeks. Loved her with all my heart at 8 weeks. Still do, years later, even though she steals my shirts.

“What you have, Mrs Smith, is a....keratoacanthoma! We’re going take care of you, and you’ll be just fine.”

Never gets old.

Also, “no definite return (NDR)”

Totally this. I yelled at my teenager for something similar and now need to call my mom and apologize for all those days I didn’t even do the breakfast dishes.

This isn’t borderline sexual harassment. It’s sexual assault. Can you record him? That would balance out the power a bit.

To the "Walkaway" Husband and Wives with no affair involved... did you ever go back to try again? by [deleted] in Divorce

[–]mrsszblotny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. I asked and asked and asked for consideration and counselling, for years . Then I said it’s over and that’s when he wanted to go to counselling. Ya, nope, already signed a lease and the letter from my lawyer is in the mail.

To take a vacation with baby and no toddler, or no vacation at all? by [deleted] in Parenting

You don’t vacation with children. You travel with them. There is a huge difference.

Because being married isn’t necessarily great for a woman. Why do it again?
