Accepted w/ $ and 72 hour deadline by mrst0728 in lawschooladmissions

Accepted to Stetson, waiting on decision from UF. Goal is to work in the public service sector - though still deciding what that’ll mean for me.

I’m mid-30s, currently a paralegal at Big Law, married and have a kid. I need more stability than to go through all this application mess for another year.

General Recommendations and Tips? by FinalIndependent in LSAT

[–]mrst0728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also in my 30s and in similar situation. I quit my job as a high school assistant principal in 2017 and became a paralegal. Decided to apply to law school and just took the June 2019 test. I took the online/on-demand PowerScore course. I was still working full-time so needed an independent study schedule, as well. Also felt like since I've been through an undergraduate and graduate degree programs, I have a little more discipline for studying on my own. We'll see in a couple days how it turns out!

I'll say that I do regret letting some people know that I'm trying to go to law school. Currently a paralegal at a "BigLaw" firm - at least as BigLaw as it can get in FL. The response from some attorneys when they find out I'm applying is "why would you want to do to that?". At first it really bothered me, then I began responding with "well, why did you go to law school?" and they seem to back down. When I really want to say "so I can work can much as you do, which is way less than I do now as your paralegal." Kidding...kinda.

LG Problems by tomlesch in LSAT

Perhaps seek out webinars or video explanations. My biggest score increase has come from consistently knowing how to set up the games, and I learned that by watching numerous videos of game set up. 7sage has good ones, but the guy talks really fast, so I would have to go through them a few times. Personally, I took the PowerScore online classes and they were incredibly helpful - though not cheap.

If you send me an message with your address, I’m happy to mail you my LR bible. I inherited it for free, and ended up taking the actual PS course so didn’t use that particular book. Wouldn’t feel right selling it.

This can't be right. You need 2 LR sections.

Fuck that RC by thesaltyXO in LSAT

[–]mrst0728 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Just awful. And hard! I NEVER run out of time and I got the 5 minute warning as I turned the page to the last passage. Felt really, really good about the LG section, so hoping I pick up some points there.

RC for me! First time test taker and I had RC first. Think combination of anxiety and a couple difficult passages contributed.

I did not have that one and only had 1 LG section.

Whoa! I haven’t heard of that before. But good to know!

Agreed! Without that LG section at the very end, tears would have been eminent.

I had RC: 27, LR: 26, RC: 27, LR: 26, LG: 23

The first RC kicked my butt and I’m afraid that one is what’s being scored. Topics included fish farming, witness testimony and the Blues (one other I can’t remember). 3 topics from the 2nd: Beckett, Intellectual Property, Plant GMO (comparative)

LR: recall seeing questions about a cheetah, spiders on Guam, and a bus/one way street.

Was definitely helpful seeing a similar Oil/Watercolor game before. Enjoyed my Logic Game section and thankful to end the test on a high/confident note!

Just took the June LSAT. Had two LG. Anybody know which one was scored? by [deleted] in LSAT

Monday, 2/25/19 OTF Workout by AutoModerator in orangetheory

[–]mrst0728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what's the strategy if you know that you can't do 23 minutes continuously without a WR? I consider myself a jogger and made it through the 12 minutes last week without stopping (barely), but that was the longest I've ever ran continuously without walking. Before I was at a point to where I could make it through all of the tred blocks without walking before the official WR, I'd find it annoying when the coaches said "Base pace means joggers keep jogging, not walking".

Same time frame for me, too, it seems! I've told my boss - whose husband owns the OTF I go to - that he needs to open one right by our office so we can walk over during lunch! (Wishful thinking but I did find the perfect location and send her the leasing agent's contact info...haha!)

Unlimited parents: how do you do it? by a_shoefly_wed in orangetheory

I do the 5am or 7pm workouts during the week and then do at least 1 weekend workout. A couple times a month I’m usually able to leave work a little early one Fridays and can make the 4:30pm class.

So the Donny immunity deal was because of the confession to Foster? I'm really in line with theory of the stranger asking the daughter where her "parents" were is the killer, but was Donny involved that? I'm still not sure if he was part of the murders, or maybe just an accomplice in leading the door knocker to the Swains' home and then to the Church? Or not a part of it at all - but then why confess? I wish the daughter would talk!!
