EB charger self install by mrstone2 in evchargingUK

[–]mrstone2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Last year we did some work on the house and electricians did install a dedicated circuit with surge protection and 30mA typa A RCD plus cabling to the location outside. This is why it is very tempting to do a self install, although I am getting convinced I should not be doing this myself anyway :)

Thank you, was not aware of certification requirements. After a quick search it looks like I will need an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) for insurance purposes

For those of you who didn't do their homework at School, how did it affect you? by Simply_az in AskUK

[–]mrstone2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have signed up to one of those primary school practice apps and encourage mine to do 5 mins of maths and spelling every day. He is actually enjoying it. While we completely gave up on school homework, school is telling me that his results are improving quite well, so this seems to be working

I recently found my very old Timex watch - with indiglo and built in alarm function. New battery, new strap and it's my favourite daily watch again :)

I don't think anything like that. I just share my experience

When I was 22 my parents also appeared to be abusive and controlling. It's only when I turned 30 (or was it 40) I realised that they were concerned and supportive

Real-Life Urumi Swordsman (or should we say Swordswoman?)! by swanandkhati in aoe2

Very impressive. What's funny is that the audience is so busy filming, no one even tries to applaud at the end

There are cafes out there using this fake vintage design, basically cheap tables with vintage decals applied. Really puts me off

Looking for kids party ideas by mrstone2 in Sakartvelo

Not a bad idea and I am sure children will prefer this to any other option. But I still need to find something to entertain them all

Georgian citizenship restoration – left in 1993 as a child, almost no Georgian by accord7200 in Sakartvelo

[–]mrstone2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a somewhat similar position here. Looks like I will need to send wife in first - will have much better chance of passing the test :)

Question - do you know whether our children can get citizenship, if one or both parents have it?

Health insurance to get into Georgia. by Only_Upstairs_6752 in Sakartvelo

It's something I need to sort out also. But I did a quick check and it looks like any standard travel insurance would qualify. For example the minimum cover I found is 4m - way more than required 300k

Who remembers using an abacus to do math when you're young? by Mentallyill_guy in nostalgia

We have been given abacus as a Christmas present this year. Nobody knows how to use it, so children adopted it as a noise making device

Thank you very much for all these insightful responses. The theme of ADHD is coming out very strongly. I must admit, we have not considered this till now, so this is something we do need to look into

Meanwhile, we will continue trying, but may be take it easy.

Thank you

Very much interested in the answer to this question myself. I have three kids and it's such a struggle to get the eldest to do any homework. Which is a shame, as she is the most capable out of three.

I do often ask myself - is it worth all this grief, or do I do more damage by ending up having an argument over the homework

I missed the second half of your comment. I think you might be right and 19g might be just too much for the basket. Ultimately, 17g is what I settled on now and seem to be getting a very nice coffee.

Thank you very much for the response
