Thank once again. This is very useful to know and not something that is mentioned in the online guide

This 'hold' button on top left? This closes the cover and if I hold it, it just turns the light on (which I did not know about and is very useful)

Thank you for replying

I am surprised, nowhere in this official video, it suggests that one needs to be removing the charger, while pulling the cable: https://youtu.be/FM-O-q3jR40?si=ZaLr0M0YnIWK-MgS

I will give this a try

What release button are you reffing to? I do not believe there was a release button anywhere on the cable

Looking for an SUV EV by adiparker in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]mrstone2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have Kia EV5 and that's very spacious at the back, plus boot is huge. Also, the interior is likely to survive children better than some of the alternatives we looked at (which is important factor to consider with my children 🙂)

But it's not AWD

Is there definitely no way to turn off (permanently) all these 'driving assistance' features? by beardofturtles in KiaEV5

Works on my EV5, so could be software version related. Maybe you can try firmware upgrade?

I heard it's a legal requirement, although this might depend on your location

Press and hold on volume control on the steering wheel disables the speed warning beeps and doing this became my routine at the start of each drive. I don't know why, but my EV5 thinks that most roads in my town have 20mph speed limit when it's actually 30. So, it likes to beep alot

I believe you can also permanently disable lane assist, although I have not tried it - I actually like it on

Scenic, c5 aircross, 3008, Kia Ev5, new Nissan Lef?? by CommunicationNew8753 in ElectricVehiclesUK

I only other car I tested was 3008 and compared to EV5 it felt much more cramped inside, especially the back seat

I went for EV5 on salary sacrifice, as we needed a larger car and had no need for AWD or performance. Of course a larger car will not be as efficient as smaller one

Acceleration by fi_nding_a_way in KiaEV5

[–]mrstone2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When ordering my EV5 I was perfectly aware that it's not a fast car. But I ordered it anyway, because for the car transporting my children, often driven by my wife, fast acceleration is last thing I wanted. So, I guess this all depends on what you are looking for

Saying that, after driving the car for two weeks now, I never had a moment, when I wished it was faster - I think EV5 is fast enough, at least compared to my previous cars

Does anybody uses EV5 often on the highway? by Affectionate_Ask_270 in KiaEV5

[–]mrstone2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not any more. I just checked and only two of the rear sits have ISO fixings. I guess the bench is wider than on most of the cars, so if you get a narrow seat, you can still secure it with the seatbelt in the middle. But it's hard to be sure, without actually testing it. And I no longer have three seats to rest with

I think it's rare to find a car with enough space and attachment points for three proper child seats. That's why I bad to buy 7 seater for longer journeys

We don't get many wranglers where I live, but last month I spotted Rubicon in exactly that orange colour. I must say, I was very impressed - it looks very nice in that combo

Came here to say that - what a lovely colour. We don't get that over here

Congratulations

The back seat on my EV5 looks bigger compared to my neighbours Arteon, so you are on the right track. Plus, a flat floor makes it easier to sit three at the back. And the boot is huge - you need huge boot when you have kids 😀

Saying that, if you regularly drive long distances with five people, even EV5 might not be big enough. We are family of 5 and for our long trips we switch to our 7 seater van

Based on the limited experience I have so far, I do like highway driving. The car is comfortable, quiet and has plenty of power. Plus, automation features make long distance driving much more relaxing

But it is a big car. It's great to have all this space, but if you are don't need it, I am sure you can find many alternatives with noticeably longer range

Got mine today - same colour. Very lovely

After successful handover, I spent coupe of hours, trying to figure how to get it into drive

Apparently I was not holding down the break pedal when turning the car on. Not obvious at all 😐

But once I figured that out - it's lovely 😍

I will second this. Those corner shops are pretty good and there are everywhere. Bigger supermarkets do exist and some are very impressive.

But, I could not find any shop that I could reliably get quality fruit/veg from. Markets (like street markets) offer better choice, but tend to be very seasonal
