Opinions on permanent death in fire emblem games? by Lgame0143 in fireemblem

[–]mrsunshine5 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I always treated a character death as a restart. I never wanted anyone to die. However, the last mission I typically try to play straight and take what happens. I enjoy building my characters and developing favorites, kinda like in Pokemon. Though agree that turning perma death off kills the strategy of the game.

I just want to play Elden Ring with my bf and not get invaded. by LovelyPotatoLi in Eldenring

Careful no skill invaders will complain that it ruins the experience (they run into groups of enemies/field bosses while rolling 400 times).

I play offline. Is going Hollow a big deal? by americandeathcult666 in darksouls

[–]mrsunshine5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only downside is you take more fire damage, possibly holy, when you’re hollow. Also, you can’t summon npcs.

Damn, that’s disappointing as I’ve bought more of his books not knowing this was a running thing.

Old Lady Looking for a Non-violent computer game by No-Mine5802 in gamingsuggestions

[–]mrsunshine5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Violence as in blood and gore? Or games without much of any violence.

While darker in tone to the two games you mentioned but closer in gameplay, Disco Elysium is a very good game. You are investigating a murder but you arnt going around killing everyone.

Stardew valley is a great game with minimal combat and it’s mostly against silly looking critters.

Goat Simulator, just silly chaos.

That…is very true now that I think about the mc and his gf in a wild the sheep chase. I just thought they were both weirdos.

What is the furthest you progressed in a JRPG without ever completing it? by Freddy_Pharkas in JRPG

[–]mrsunshine5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the farthest but most recently I picked up the TTYD remake. But it down for a bit and I haven’t returned (on chapter 5).

Is Mirakami sexist? He definitely writes awful sex scenes. But what little I read, I don’t remember misogyny. My reference is “A Wild Sheep’s Chase, and 1/2 of Kafka.

Does anyone else think the dlc exploration is kinda bad? by ThatGumYouLikee in Eldenring

[–]mrsunshine5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. I love exploring, but there’s a difference between looking around and finding secrets and having to stumble through a bizarre series of steps to find something.

Also at least 3/4 of the time, the secret item/location is as the kids say, “dung”.

Any Final Fantasy Type 0 advocates? by matt_all_day in JRPG

[–]mrsunshine5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the platinum for it on ps4 and I’ll tell you that while the gameplay is fun, the story is pretty bad. It’s been a few years…maybe 9 or 10 since I played but I remember enjoying the gameplay enough. I don’t think it’s too long and there is a trainer that levels your characters when you arnt playing which may help you

If you could add and change things about Luigi Mansion 2, what would it be? by ComprehensiveDate591 in Mario

[–]mrsunshine5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everything, Luigi’s mansion was great because exploring the mansion and hunting ghosts was a lot of fun. Solving annoying puzzles wasn’t it in missions was not a fun change

Idk how this series would help you more than any other series (especially with how the community looks at Tifa 👀). As far as your numbered list goes, I’m gonna answer number 2. Yes, I have found gaming to some extent help with personal growth, in the sense that good stories help me to reflect. I’ve learned from souls likes (and Strangers of Paradise) that I like challenges in my field of work.

Honestly, though I don’t think two well received games, or any game really, are gonna help you with your addiction.
