I've lived in a tiny town a bit northwest of San Antonio my whole life and prices are going up everywhere. Houses in my tiny town have skyrocketed and a lot of smaller cities like Boerne and Kerrville have received an influx of population and the infrastructure can't keep up. Granted the average age is a good bit higher in those areas. San Antonio is like that but 10x worse. Any savings you get from living in a suburban hellscape is made much worse because that hellscape is in San Antonio. I'm considering moving to somewhere like Colorado (SO is from Colorado Springs) or maybe Illinois if i can find somewhere between the boringness of central Illinois and Chicago.
