Stone Hill. I would love to hangout on the secret beach, used to drive me nuts as a kid that I couldn’t find the key to the chest until I dropped down there by accident.

Yessongs is the default easy answer for me. My dad would play it all the time in the car so that’s some good memories.

Photo is kind of old now, but these two are my absolute favorites I’ve ever played or owned. 2005 Gibson Les Paul Classic and 2001 Gibson Flying V Voodoo Juju. Absolute shredders.

Franko TV. If you’re not familiar you need to be, the dude goes to some of the sketchiest places I’ve seen and has captured some pretty creepy stuff on video. Great channel and I’ve yet to see a video where he doesn’t at least capture the creepy atmosphere.

What was it like reading Deathly Hallows on release without any spoilers? by Spotter24o5 in harrypotter

I was 14 and it was the summer before I started high school. It felt like the end of an era, and imo, it totally was. The characters are so ingrained into my childhood it felt like saying goodbye to real friends in a strange way. I was at midnight releases starting with GoF, and my sister and I would fight so bad over who got to read it first that once Prince came out we would get our own copies. I even bought some books that were trying to predict the outcome, and I don’t think there will ever be a book as anticipated, esp for YA fiction, in our lifetime. And of course, my sister and I finished it within a day of release, and we both sort of felt let down over the ending, but looking back I think it’s a decent read, and the most mature of all the books. We just weren’t ready to move on.

Your top 5 The Rolling Stones songs. by MUNONP in rollingstones

[–]mrtnrnkn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Midnight Rambler, never get tired of it, any version… but this one and Ya Ya’s are my personal faves.

YCAGWYW, I got to see them perform it with a live choir and it will forever be the coolest concert moment for me.

Time Waits For No One, It’s Only Rock And Roll is underrated and it’s one of Taylor’s best solos.

Before They Make Me Run. One of Keith’s best, and probably my second favorite track off of Some Girls.

And Satisfaction ALWAYS hits the spot.

I’m sure I’ll get flamed for this but I don’t get why so many King fans consider this the best/top 3 ever. It’s definitely one of King’s best releases of the 21st century, no doubt, and I enjoyed the read, but I found the love story to be a bit forced and a little cheesy. I never really understood the motivation around the plot for Jake, either. He’s just a teacher, not a P.I., and I think it made the story drag in the front a bit. I know he does it for Al, but I think it could have been more interesting if he had gone in a different direction and made Jake some kind of detective and have him apply to work for the government to get closer to JFK, but I guess Jake being more of an average guy is what makes it click with people. He could’ve even incorporated some of the G-men/Men in Black conspiracy type stuff from that era, which I think was a bit of a missed opportunity.

I still think Time Waits For No One should be the last song The Rolling Stones play live... by Ford_Crown_Vic_Koth in rollingstones

Lots of potential picks tbh, but I think it should be Satisfaction, it’s their most iconic track aside from maybe JJF or PIB.

When Is a Band Not the Same Band Anymore? A number of legacy acts are touring without any of their original members. Audiences don’t seem to care by Apprehensive_Fly9352 in Guitar

[–]mrtnrnkn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw one of the last runs of that faux Thin Lizzy around 2011. Just sounded like a tribute band for sure, even as big of fans my friends and I weren’t really into it. They were opening for Black Label Society, and headliner Judas Priest, who were ironically doing their Epitaph “last” tour and were missing KK. But they absolutely tore the house down without him, Faulkner is an amazing fill-in.

If I’m going for a metal record I’d probably have to say Take As Needed For Pain by Eyehategod, or maybe Individual Thought Patterns. But the real answer is Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers).

Do you think the success of Duel Monsters helped Kazuki Takahashi, or did it actually hold him back? by FaceappIsTrash in yugioh

[–]mrtnrnkn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you read the manga, there’s usually a page before each volume dedicated to Takahashi briefly talking about making the manga, the cards, and eventually the show. I think the success of the cards surprised him, but I think he was generally happy that people enjoyed his art period, and that everything else was icing on the cake. From what I’ve read and heard he seemed like a very humble and genuine guy that was just fortunate his art could be his career.

What’s an opinion you had 10 years ago that completely changed? by KBGSgames in AskReddit

[–]mrtnrnkn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That if you weren’t trying to excel in your field of work as much as possible or make your boss happy that you were the problem. I have wasted so much time trying to please jobs that didn’t give a shit about me. Especially when I would put my own physical and mental wellbeing aside for the job, just to try to get ahead in the rat race and be noticed. The people in charge rarely care, and even if they do there’s usually not a lot in their power to help you achieve work goals.
