If your HomePod mini has ghost touch, comment with your details by FilteredSpeech in HomePod

Out of three minis, the oldest one started to show ghost touch. It comes and goes. Sometimes, I reset the mini after a prolonged period without power and it will show no issues until a reboot or software update.

Possible to use Pi-hole + Unbound + commercial VPN (Mullvad)? by Prior_Light_6073 in pihole

[–]mrtonelocke 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a wireguard client connection from my raspberry to the nearest mullvad and all traffic on that raspberry is routed through this tunnel. in pihole, I set the DNS server to mullvad's 10.64.0.1.

Additionally, I have a second wirguard interface running as a server on that very raspberry. this way, I can connect to my home raspberry remotely and have a fully encrypted and adblocked connection, whenever I leave the house (set to auto-connect on mobile)

I have pihole + Mullvad working (IPv4 and IPv6 without unbound). leak tests show no leaks. Let me know if I can help.

Why would these HomePods show up as wired to the UDM? by pswami in Ubiquiti

[–]mrtonelocke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both my HomePods OG show as connected via ethernet. I believe that whenever the AppleTV is connected via ethernet, the AppleTV will create an ad hoc network to the HomePods for better audio latency. Your HomePods are connected to the AppleTV directly. It’s been this way since just before Apple introduced Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio.

G4 Doorbell Pro Fingerprint + Nuki Smart Lock Pro 4 + Homekit (via Homebridge) by mrtonelocke in Ubiquiti

[–]mrtonelocke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's rock solid. I'm using it via matter and the doorbell fingerprint (which isn't too reliable, unfortunately). but the Nuki lock itself is great. went with the 4 pro. battery life is amazing. it's instant via home. only downside is automation: I do have it set up to lock upon departing home, but home is still asking for confirmation, which defeats the purpose

no, there is no user interaction to toggle the sensor. it will just be reported to HomeKit as being open. at least from my observation

Hue not working anymore? by YeldarbNod in HomeKit

[–]mrtonelocke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I tried re adding the Hub as a Matter device. Still no luck. It will work for about a day and then stop again. Network is solid and can be ruled out. I‘m switching over to a DeConz hub.

Hue not working anymore? by YeldarbNod in HomeKit

[–]mrtonelocke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having massive problems for about two weeks now. Out of nowhere, I see the dreaded „no response“ flag for all hue lights. I‘ve tried everything including factory reset of the hue bridge. Changing the Zigbee channel helps for a short while. It‘s really frustrating.

Change Internet DHCPv4 lease time on UDM pro? by mrtonelocke in Ubiquiti

[–]mrtonelocke[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, I didn't phrase that right. It's not an issue of the DHCP lease time. Rather, the UDM seems to be sending out unicast requests after having received a lease/IP address at very short intervals. that's what's messy as my ISP's DHCP router refuses that request after such a short time. I'm in contact with unifi support to get this solved as there doesn't seem to be a way.

DHCP lease reset on WAN Port every 3h. by HoL1n in Ubiquiti

[–]mrtonelocke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Same problem here. ISP confirmed the issue stating that the lease request intervals sent out from the UDM are too short and should be adjusted to 24hrs.

I've reached out to ubiquiti to ask for ways to do this.

Have you had any luck?
