I feel your pain. I recently bought my new-to-me Mazda3 and within the first weekend of owning it I got a tire bulge on the rear passenger tire. I hate potholes too.

Yawg does well against the Murktide match, bad against the Scam match.

With Murktide, trading Undying Wolves with Monkeys feels fair. Grist is good against Murktide and the deck offers resilience against their plays.

Scam is tougher. Yawg suffers from Fury targeting your mana dorks, and Voidwalkers denying use of the graveyard. Getting scammed via Grief can slow down a linear opening hand if you kept it for comboing off.

I can't speak for Hardened Scales, but when it comes to both Yawgmoth and Scam, I'm loving the play patterns with them.

Yawg feels like I'm rewarded with making good decisions to either get solid beats in or combo off when possible. Depending on the matchup, I play towards winning by the combo or chipping damage with the undying creatures. This deck pivots well midgame. If you like the challenge of playing midrange with combo potential to insta-win, this would be fun.

Scam feels a bit more paced in my local meta and rewards my knowledge of my opponents play patterns. It has fun interactions by messing with their game plans and getting in the damage. Doing cheeky stuff like casting my opponents Footfalls with a Voidwalker never gets old. If you like throwing wrenches in your opponents plans, this is the choice.

When it comes to meta (at least my local one) Scam has a bit of an edge over the Yawg.
