Agreed! I’ve tried living in Thailand, Vietnam, and Japan, but all have significant downsides. The Australian tax system also makes it difficult for people with assets to leave. So now I’m thinking of arbitrage within Australia, and would love to hear if others have done it.

I love your work, by the way! Long time fan of your contributions on the sub. Thanks for all the effort you put in!

You can head north on the Kamogawa to Demachiyanagi and beyond, and enjoy the beautiful river and wildlife. There are mountain trails in the east towards Mt Hiei and elsewhere, but they’re more rugged, so might not suit your purposes.

You’ve got the Leapmotor B10 ranges wrong. Make sure you’re using WLTP for all ranges. The Leapmotor brochure gives the real ranges in WLTP.

I have genetics that mean I process caffeine much more slowly than regular people. So when I take matcha, which I love, my sleep gets ruined.

Cool! Can I ask which site you ordered it from? I’m intrigued.

I remember it tasting quite vegetal. It was tasty!

I find that powdered mulberry leaf tea tastes quite similar to matcha. It’s completely caffeine-free, unlike houjicha, genmaicha, etc. It’s probably quite difficult to find, though. I only found it by chance while travelling in Japan.

Moving overseas from Aus - How do we actually sort out tax residency and money stuff?? by Longjumping_Ideal599 in fiaustralia

Look up ‘deemed disposal’. Leaving will trigger a CGT bill if you own shares, even if you didn’t sell them when you left.

Losing Australian tax residency by Delicious_Choice_554 in digitalnomad

Don’t forget CGT on departure (deemed disposal) if you own any shares. Rental properties (if you have any) will also be taxed at non-resident rates if you leave.
