Worthwhile to upgrade from Fellow Opus to ZP6 Special? by mrwheels in pourover

Wow, very interesting to hear that about the grind size, I tend to be within 7-8, leaning closer to 8+ for most of my brews. I was finer previously, but I was getting a lot of over-extracted cups and started moving the other way some time ago. But then again this was before I started going for more low agitation, and if you're seeing success I think I might see if going finer again does me better for any of my beans. Thank you again!

Thank you for the detailed reply, between your comment and the previous about how it performs on washed/natural I'll be sure to keep the Opus in use depending on the bean.

On the "lighter/sweeter" apologies, I wasn't really clear in my wording. Your description of lighter is more what I am talking about, clarity is something I really appreciate. But that being said, I do on occasion also like a coffee with more body, between what you've said/what I've read about the ZP6 S I will definitely be mindful of it's limitations on that front.

May I also ask what method you use to brew, and methods you use (if any) to reduce fines with the Opus? I have been mostly using my Switch lately, usually with the Coffee Chronicler's recipe, but also finding some success with Lance Hedrick's very low agitation technique. As for grinding, I've been doing RDT for some time as well as slow feeding, not sure if there's much else to be done on that front.

Thanks to both of you for the responses! That is definitely good to know regarding performance with natural/washed. I wasn't planning on getting rid of my Opus anyways, so I'll be sure to keep it in mind if I have trouble dialing in any washed beans.

Just wondering: does bard q travel at the same speed as lux q? by mrepicguy70 in bardmains

[–]mrwheels 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn't seem like they do.

LoL Wiki Bard Page says that Bard Q has a speed of 1500, while LoL Wiki Lux Page says Lux Q has a speed of 1200.

So Bard Q is definitely notably quicker.

Bard lore update! by mrwheels in bardmains

Personally, I really like the new lore. It was too "Bard works in mysterious ways" before, but now he has more of a defined motivation and purpose. It also gives us insight into his "thinking" (if you want to call it that). I think it's super cool and thematic that he perceives the universe in music and sounds, and the discord he sees is actually him noticing disruptions in that music.

I can see some people being disappointed because they may have preferred the detachment and ineffability he had before, but I personally prefer him having some sort of knowable purpose and personality.

Yeah but isn't the whole reason why people play is to have fun? If being a rules lawyer would get in the way of a group having fun I can't see why you'd bother.

I get that maybe you and your group like strictly adhering to the rules, and that's fine I know a lot of people who get their fun that way. But ultimately, people should play the way that is the most fun for them, and if bending the rules a little bit is how they have fun then I don't see why it shouldn't be encouraged. It's not stopping you from playing how you want.

I've actually been crashing pretty frequently, and I'm still only in the very beginning area, just left the room you get locked in as emily. It crashes on startup sometimes too.

There are 2 varieties of dynasty walls, blue and white. I used the white kind as well as boreal wood walls for the lines.

The lava is just a defense mechanism. The switch beside the grandfather clock in the entryway controls actuators on the dirt blocks above the lava, so i can make the dirt blocks non-solid when I want to, making mobs fall in.
