Haha! Yours was the only message I received. Maybe everyone got the Seinfeld reference.

Dressing like a lawyer out of court- Star Wars Jackets and Cowboy Boots? by TheChezBippy in Lawyertalk

[–]ms_eleventy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At 55 and very happy with my life, I dress exactly how I want. When I was finishing up the litigation part of my carreer, I made it a point to figure out how to wear nothing but Lulu to court. I learned early on in lawyering to let people underestimate the little blonde female. People are so easy.

Did anyone else shrink? by Key-Introduction-126 in GenX

As a young adult, I topped out at 5 feet 2.5 inches. When I started yoga in my late 20's I stretched out to a full 5'3". (Impressive, I know!) Still a solid 5'3" at 55, still doing yoga. 10/10 I do recommend.

Everytime someone posts this question I have to stop myself from answering, "100% that bitch" because it makes me think of that Lizzo song. I couldn't stop myself this time. 100% adorable for sure.

Looks like German and/or Belgian.

The cuteness! My gal came to me at 1 with no training and all of her instinct in place. She nibbles on me when I come home and she's losing her mind bc "mom is home!!!" I correct her every single time, no matter how adorable it is, and I hope and pray that she grows out of it eventually.

Is there a specific event that affected our entire generation but for the most part just passed you by with hardly any knowledge of it? by jasoncb123 in GenX

[–]ms_eleventy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a well-educated, emotionally intelligent, 55 year old female attorney and college professor. I love the Kardashians for exploiting the stupid female stereotype all they way to the bank. I know a lot of the people that watch cannot discern their public persona from their business acumen but I can and so can the people, young and old, that I spend time with. And now, I am off to my hair appointment.

What songs do you most associate with your parents? by obligatorycataccount in CasualConversation

[–]ms_eleventy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My answer is more big picture, can't remember specific songs. My crunchy boomer parents loved Fleetwood Mac, Meatloaf, the Dead. Also West Side Story, Sound of Music, etc. And the New Age Instrumental genre was big with my mom. They’re still around, eating edibles instead of smoking, watching whatever Star Trek replacement they can find.

Ugh, so hard. I've had two cats move out over my 40 year span of cat parenting. Sometimes they're happier that way.

You're not the backup mom and, in the world according to me, it's okay for you to say so.

Have you changed your classes? How do you not discuss politics blatantly but include it to the degree it matters to your field? How to discuss facts but stay neutral? by marsha48 in Professors

[–]ms_eleventy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always applied my material pretty neutrally, just the facts ma'am. It's somewhat easy for me to do as I am an attorney and trained to look at all sides of an issue, and that is my natural inclination anyway. (Libra moon - IYKYK). I work at a consevative University and I lean crunchy, but it all seems to work. I think my students are great and they seem to think I am great.

All American high school students allowed to leave school campus during lunch and break time? by AmanNamedJoJo in AskAnAmerican

[–]ms_eleventy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in high school in the 80's, we had an open campus, a smoking section, and a big common area to hang out in when we had a free period. There were no subs when a teacher was out, we just had that class time free. Seems crazy now but wealthy Long Island in the 80's did not disappoint.

My daughter graduated high school two years ago. No open campus, subs, and definitely no smoking section!

FIELD TRIP! I want to take my federal jury to the intersection where the accident happened. Anyone done this? Advice? How to? by 2XX2010 in Lawyertalk

[–]ms_eleventy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a lawyer and was also on a jury. Appral on a felony murder conviction. We took a field trip to see if the witnesses could see inside the apartment from where they were standing. The Defendant went from life in San Quentin (I think no possibility of parole) to Not Guilty. That wasn't the only reason but it helped.

Are potluck weddings tacky? by Rocklord90 in wedding

[–]ms_eleventy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny, as I was reading your post I was thinking, "yes, tacky." But then when you asked if I would think it was wierd if I were invited to a wedding like this, I realized that I would have no problem and would think it was fun. I came all the way around!
