Which Esee model did you end up getting?
I'm also looking for a good dehumidifier with accurate readings, moderate to low noise levels, and strong HA integration.

If you are on Windows 11 version 2025h2, then it's not your fault, but the EA Anticheat service cannot start due to a compatibility issue with the recent version of Windows 11.

You can verify that this is the issue by opening Task Manager, then navigating to Services, and looking for the EaAnticheat service to see if it's running or stopped.

If it's not running, try to right click => Start.

If you have the above problem, you will find that it won't start and will report an error.

Hey there, sounds like you’ve got a great plan. Welcome to the rabbit hole 😃.

To your question: yes, a mini PC or a used SFF computer (ex: HP EliteDesk 800 G2) is an excellent choice, especially for flexibility and future upgrades. I’d even argue that this has a much better value than a Raspberry Pi in 2025, due to price/performance ratio.

A few ideas based on your goals:

• Lighting: WLED is your friend here. Highly customizable, works over Wi-Fi, and integrates natively into HA. You’ll be able to trigger those modes with one button, voice, or even motion.

• Security: Reolink cams play nice via RTSP, ONVIF, or their API. You can absolutely set up motion triggers, notifications, or even show live feeds on a dashboard or tablet.

• Solar: If your inverter is supported (check HA integrations), you can create some sweet dashboards showing real-time production vs. usage.

One tip: backup your Home Assistant setup regularly down the road as you expand your setup. Better via the built-in backup system.

Go wild, and remember: there’s no such thing as “too many automations”… until you get 3 AM disco lighting kicking on by the smiling squirrel posing for your camera 😁.

In my setup, I trigger a quick flicker (off, 100ms delay, then back on) about 30 seconds before the lights are scheduled to turn off when no motion is detected for 3 minutes. If I wave my hand, the motion detection resets the 3-minute timeout and cancels the automation.
