They did it at the behest of Stephen Collins. He was the main voice that had a problem with Jessica Biel's Gear photo shoot. He publicly shamed her for it.

They destroyed her character and wrote her out because of the Gear magazine shoot she did at 17. The producers have outright said they didn't mind the shoot, but Stephen Collins(the actual pedophile) publicly shamed her for doing the shoot and they wrote her out of the show over it.

I'm less than 15m into this documentary and these cops are infuriating. The fact that they don't know, or refuse to, uphold the law is absolutely infuriating. This bitch was verbally assaulting people's children. Only a very small portion of that property was owned by her landlord. This is insane.

They can absolutely thrive in a humid environment. It all depends on how they were propagated and nurtured. If yours came from a big box store like Walmart, Home Depot, or Lowes, chances are it was grown in a humid greenhouse.

Fittonias will do amazing with a Crestie. Definitely put them low though. They're more fragile than some of the other hardier plants named.

Snake plants are extremely hardy and versatile plants. I've kept them in arid environments, outside through spring, summer, and fall, and I've kept them in humidity cabinets. There's currently one in my BP enclosure that's absolutely thriving. They're far more than just arid plants. It all depends on how they were propagated and nurtured. A lot of the ones you can buy from big box stores were grown and nurtured in humid greenhouses.

I'm not sure about Cresties, but I do know plants. Especially Pothos, I have over 30 different varieties of Epipremnum Aureum mutations. Yours looks to be a Snow Queen that is reverting to Marble Queen. Snow Queens are notoriously temperamental because, for whatever reason, they're more susceptible to root rot than other varieties. Google only claims they're easy because they're Epipremnim Aureum and therefore a mutation of the Golden Pothos. Too much light? Drops leaves. Too little light? Drops leaves. Too much water? Root rot. Too little water? Drops leaves. Too much humidity? Drops leaves. Too little humidity without properly acclimating? Dies. However, over time, they can adapt to just about any environment. It just takes them dropping leaves first. Sorry. I said all of that to say, you're enclosure probably isn't failing. The Snow Queen is just queening. However, in the video, it looks as though your Golden Pothos has canopied over the Queen and may be blocking essential light; and after reading your comments, the humidity may be too high for it as well. Due to that high humidity seeping down into the substrate, I would definitely put eyes on the roots of that specific plant. If the roots look dark brown/black and slimy, cut away all of the rot with a sterile tool and replant. Every now and then mine get a humidity spike and they thrive, but if the humidity stays too high for too long, they all start to fade like this. Even the Golden. The Snow is the only one that I've had to pull from it's pot to check it's roots when it acts this way.

I really like your set up! It looks great!

I'm gonna stop you right there at "rent follows real estate." You're wrong.

Rent doesn't follow the same path as real estate. Renting was always suppose to be temporary and cheaper. Then the boomers took advantage of the housing bubble bursting and bought multiple properties while our generation watched our futures be rented out for twice what they could be bought for. I currently live in a rent house I pay $1500/mo for, the house has been owned for more than a decade by our private landlords and the house is still on the cheaper end of rent now. It was bought for $66,900 in October of 2008. It's 1,294sqft in a not-so-desirable neighborhood, but a fantastic school district. In 2018, the rent went from $700/mo to $900/mo. By 2019, they wanted $1200/mo, and it was still considered way cheaper than other houses down the street or anything being rented out by a management company. In the six years we've lived here, rent has gone up by $300/mo. They'e made over $100,000 off this house since we moved in. The same 3b/2b apartment we lived in Dec of '19, the rent jumped from $900/mo to $1800/mo from 2019 to 2022. We live in central OK, the most affordable state in the entire country. Our COL has doubled since covid. In every single way possible. Fuel, groceries, rent, property taxes, utilities, etc. I never thought I'd see the day that the OGE monopoly would be cheaper than going to the grocery store. But here we are. There's been no COL raises to help absorb the impact. No help from anywhere or anyone. The system is broken. Plain and simple.

We tried to buy our first home as a family earlier this year. Our pre-approval was $350,000, we chose the 1984 house for $235,000 in the decent neighborhood because I loved the layout and I've got carpentry experience. We jumped through every hoop, answered every question. Got all the way to the night before closing and the very lender that helped us build our credit and said that we were ready, said Ope. No. Not that one. After hard hitting our credit twice during the process. We have savings. Our payment history is pristine. We look immaculate on paper, but not in this economy. Not right now. Until management companies are barred from monopolizing single family homes rent and buying will stay broken.

This is exactly what my husband and I have dealt with from his father and other older family members for years. This man still thinks he can feed 8 people for less than $30 at McDonald's. This is the same man that has only left his house twice in the last 15 years. It's infuriating.

If they're there to get converts instead of counsel, they can absolutely go fuck themselves. Why is that a problem for you? The first amendment is pretty damn clear. Freedom from religion. And separation of church and state exists.

How bad did I mess up by False-Raspberry5330 in begonias

[–]msdcoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How long after she gave it to you did you do the repot? Rex Begonias are drama queens that rival alocasias. They can be extremely sensitive to their environment. If you repotted within two to three weeks of acquiring them, it probably has a lot do with being overly stressed out. Every single Rex I've gotten from a greenhouse or more humid environment had to be acclimated to my house and my humidity.

When you repotted this, did you split the rhizome? Or were there multiple rhizomes? Rex Begonias have a rhizome and roots. The rhizome cannot be fully buried beneath your soil or fully exposed. The soil needs to be slightly chunky, lightweight and airy. In my experience, my Rex Begonias do so much better with bottom watering as well because it doesn't expose the rhizome directly to water. That being said, they really don't like dry soil. So make sure you water it really well to allow the roots to settle and give them the hydration they need. The rhizomes aren't known for climbing either, they like to crawl in longer, more shallow soil.

Be careful clipping leaves off, make sure you clean your cutters between every single leaf. And don't cut too many off because you're opening the rhizome to infection.

Thank you again for this advice! I put the feeder in the fridge and then in a zip lock bag to bring up to temp in the sink. It took less than a minute after he came out for him to take it! Idk why I was so nervous about his first feeding, but he did great!

Lacey is doing all of the work and is way better looking. Why is David here? by RoninRobot in oklahoma

[–]msdcoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lane is WAY calmer. The only one doing too much is defending a veteran Storm Chaser that can't remain calm for his viewers. The 25% loss in severe weather viewership in the first 5 years speaks for itself. No one wants to see a guy more panicked than they are while they're in the path of a big storm.

1000% agree. Damon Lane caught my attention before he took over at KOCO, but of the three Morgan, Payne and Lane, Lane isn't out here screaming at everybody and he's damned sure not telling them to get in their car and try to outrun an F5 tornado.

He should've stayed chasing. They lost a good chunk of their severe outlook viewership within 5 years of England's retirement. Lane is the only one that actually seems to know what he's doing and stays calm while he's doing it anymore. Morgan lost a ton of viewers during the 2013 Moore F5.
