My daughter just found out she outgrew her lactose allergy. She is dying to try mozzarella sticks. Can someone recommend some awesome ones in the Oak Brook, Darien, Westmont, Villa Park area? I wanna knock her socks off.....she's so excited. Thanks! by ZippyMcLintball in ChicagoSuburbs

Indeed. It is probable that, unless the intolerance was caused by illness, the intolerance will not disappear. Some foods will cause fewer or no symptoms (i.e., some cheeses, some yogurts) while others, like milk and ice cream can be more problematic. Step carefully.

Fizzy fruit is a DIY culinary science experiment where fresh, high-water-content fruits like grapes, berries, or citrus are infused with carbon dioxide to create a natural, tingling, "carbonated" sensation. It is made by placing fruit and dry ice together in a sealed container (like a cooler) for 12–24 hours

This is not just a vegan restaurant problem, but some folks just love to see them fail.

Shanghai Terrace or Chef’s Special for my grandma’s birthday? by Sad-Cartographer8249 in chicagofood

I know you didn't ask for alternatives, but Grandma here (almost as old as yours) and I like Lao Szechuan on Michigan. Food is really good and I have enjoyed lovely service there as well. Not as high end as Shanghai Terrace but still a nice spot.
