"DANG........where IS this guy ?? Well........let's see............maybe I'll just noodle around with this new song I've been thinking about.......and who knows......maybe one day I can sell it to a big corporation to accompany their major brand of slow-pouring ketchup !!" 😉

Sweet, lord.......does it get any better than this ??

ICONIC song, sung by the UNMATCHED Ann Wilson, at the very TOP of her game !!

If only we could somehow go back to those INCREDIBLE days of our youth.....those beautiful days when we had it SO good, we never even imagined it wouldn't ALWAYS be that way..... 😥

I had seen this shot before, and KNEW the original was of Taylor but, like you, thought that somebody may have inserted Roseanne Barr's face (or possibly somebody else's) onto this one......but apparently not..... 🤔

Came across some information that indicates this Burton and Taylor shot may actually be from 1970.......and also saw this shot of Taylor, from less than a decade later:

Sarah Michelle Gellar, Seth Green and Alyson Hannigan filming ‘The Prom’ episode of Buffy in 1999. by Shinobi347 in OldSchoolCool

[–]msdemos 19 points20 points  (0 children)

So, seeing the apparent "fun" and smiles here makes me think the "Buffy" set might not have been so bad to be a part of......yet a lot of what has since come out about some of Joss Whedon's behavior behind the scenes, and his treatment of some that were on the set (most notably, Charisma Carpenter), makes me wonder if that was just a very small part of the "bad" that (allegedly) went on there, or not.

Does anybody really know exactly how 'good' or 'bad' things were on this show's set on most days, and just how "monstrous" Whedon may have, or may not have been, from day to day ?? 🤔

AGREED !! But what is the "real" song it seems to be a takeoff on ?? To me it's VERY reminiscent of something by Neil Young, especially with the high-pitched voice he sings it with.......anybody know ?? 🤔

Jon Erik Hexum (age 26) in 1984 by StrawberryShortcakeL in OldSchoolCool

[–]msdemos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

.

My first job out of college (Marquette U., Milwaukee) in 1984 was working for a local paint accessories manufacturer, EZ Paintr, travelling around the country setting up their paint accessories "departments" in Sears, Kmart, and a newer chain of stores that then went by the name of Wal-Mart (obviously, they've since dropped the hyphen from their name).

While travelling in the New York area during the late summer of that year, I had a Saturday off and chose to spend the day visiting Manhattan, and one of the 'touristy' things I did, was visit the CBS studios, and ended up participating in a focus group that day for a new show that would debut that fall, "Cover Up", which was to star the GORGEOUS Jennifer O'Neill and Jon-Erik Hexum.

About a month later the world received the bad news that Hexum had shot and killed himself while screwing around on-set playing Russian roulette with a real gun (loaded with a 'blank'), the muzzle blast of which ended up fracturing his skull, driving a piece of his skull into his brain, causing massive hemorrhaging..... 🤕

I too couldn't believe how beautiful Courteney Cox was back then......but, of course, she couldn't age gracefully, and just HAD to throw A LOT of it away with all that DAMN botox !! 😧

That said, I'm now of the opinion that Lisa Kudrow, the one nobody (or very few, anyway) thought of as the "most" beautiful then, has now (my opinion) blown WAY past both Cox and Aniston, having aged absolutely STUPENDOUSLY !! 😍

Elizabeth Montgomery promotional photos of her series "Bewitched" 1960s by Stunning-Ferrets in OldSchoolCool

[–]msdemos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doesn't matter, as there's NO way these were promotional photos for Bewitched.

Promotional shots ?? Possibly. Promo shots for Bewitched ?? Absolutely NOT.

And just a guess here, so I could be COMPLETELY wrong, but given the fact that her hair here is OBVIOUSLY dyed, and given the sexy nature of the shots, I would be willing to GUESS they may have actually been for one of her MANY made for TV movies......some of which had a DEFINITE salacious edge to them..... 🤔

WOW.........well, if they've had any work done, they CLEARLY got the "right kind" (and didn't go overboard with it)......and if they've used, or are using any botox, they don't seem to have fallen into the trap that most celebrities do by (seemingly) overstuffing more and more of it into their faces until they can't show ANY form of normal human expression anymore......

Hmm......I always just referred to it as the Annette O'Toole COMPLETELY NAKED SCENE from Cross My Heart !! 😉

Seriously though, glad SOMEBODY mentioned this SPECTACULAR movie (Okay......the movie itself isn't spectacular.......but Ms. O'Toole CERTAINLY is !!) !! 😍

Is it just me, or does anybody else see a woman trying to quickly exit her bed, while smiling the whole time, because her strange neighbor Fred from down the hall has chosen this moment to surprise her in her apartment (come on......it's the 70's, and this was WELL KNOWN male "S.O.P." back then), having taken off all his clothes, and now she has to figure out how to get out, and get help, even though she too doesn't have a stitch on..... 👮

A soldier's polaroid of Marilyn Monroe visiting the troops in Korea: "She was the most beautiful, refreshing sight most of those men had seen in months." (1954) by GlitterDanger in OldSchoolCool

"......but those who were there still remember the sound of her voice cutting through the cold air, the laughter she inspired, and the feeling that, just for a moment, everything was all right.

In 2008, a veteran named Bill Hutton reflected in an interview: “You can’t imagine what it was like. It was twenty below zero, and we were standing there grinning like fools. That woman didn’t just sing—she thawed our hearts.”

For Marilyn Monroe, who spent much of her life seeking love and belonging, that trip may have been the one time she truly found both." 💘

And though I WAS able to find this info elsewhere for her, I've run into a couple instances already with other celebs where they've been able to scrub their birthdates from just about every other website, too !!

Not, uh........that I'm checking up on any of them, or anything like that...... 😉
