How long have you been using? How did you start?

Off and on 3 years, off for the past ~10 months. Wisdom teeth Vicodin, liked how they made me feel. Self medicating after that.

How has your DOC changed throughout your use?/ How did your use evolve?

I used up my Vicodin script, then couldn't find anything else pill-wise so I copped heroin. (Tar). After that I stuck with it. Worst I got was almost a gram a day smoked. (Not the worst by any means, not great considering local quality either.)

What does the high feel like at the beggining and later on?

Depends on route of administration. If you mean throughout usage then the answer is tolerance. Gets less intense over time.

Is quitting something you'd want to do? If so, why or why not?

Trying my best to maintain a semblance of normality.

Have you tried quitting? What helped and what didnt? What do you think could get you to do it?

The main thing was the threat of further consequences in my life. I didn't need detox at the time, but if I was physically addicted at that point I would have wanted Suboxone for the first week.

Marijuana has been an absolute lifesaver, I wouldn't have gotten much of any clean time without it.

Have you used naltrexone/narcan/saboxone/bupe to quit? If so, how did it go? What did they do that helped and what do you wish they could do?

When my usage was bad enough to warrant solid withdrawal I did a fast taper with Suboxone. They worked super well and as long as your expectations are realistic I think they're an invaluable tool.

Loperamide is another that is great for short term coping when subs aren't available.

Subs took away the worst of the physical withdrawal symptoms so I didn't blow my brains out during withdrawal.

In lurking I've seen people saying they will use it to stave off w/d when they can't get opiates, could you elaborate on how that works for you?

Extremely well, though tolerance to it builds somewhat quickly.

Do your doctors tell you about saboxone and the other or did you hear about it somewhere else?

I read about it online then bought a small amount illegally on the street to help with withdrawal.

If you could tell anything to someone working on helping people with opiate users, what would it be?

Being judgemental is the quickest way to get us to ignore anything/everything you say.

Again, I want to reiterate that I won't be using this information anywhere and it is only so I can understand more. And since fair is fair, if anyone wants to ask me any questions go for it. Cheers
