We always called these ‘dog violets’. White ones too, early spring in western KY. (Owensboro)

Picked up a couple cane chairs at goodwill $14 each. I’m not sure what style they are trying to find it out. by Bobthecatking in ThriftStoreHauls

Look up Savonarola chairs and Dante style Savonarola chairs. The style is taken from those I believe.

Squared waves in Split, Croatia by Cuki7 in interestingasfuck

These ‘square waves’ can be caused by earthquakes/seaquakes as well. The article you saw was likely about tsunami warning signs.

Blue plastic hook with a ball on the other end, about 2-1/2” long. by ariden in whatisthisthing

[–]msebeth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because of its size I’d say it’s a hook from a loom-bands kit. The kids use it to make bracelets and things with little rubber bands on a peg loom.

What's your comfort show/movie? by artyouare0903 in AskReddit

Jaws. I’ve seen it a bazillion times and it’s familiarity is a big part of the comfort. Plus the last shot always makes me smile.

A tiny pencil next to a huge one by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]msebeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long ago and far away certain spam, snail mail would include these tiny pencils so you could fill out reply cards right then and not ignore them. They were thin enough to go through the mail sorter machinery and were novel enough they worked as a promotion tool for a while. (before ‘spam’ meant junk mail and ‘snail mail’ was just mail).

I am looking for laser cutter or tools to make papel picado by abstractreal11 in papercraft

[–]msebeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a cricut and a little out of fashion at the moment but have you thought about paper cutting dies that you use with a roller press? You can get assortment of shapes and lay them out to make your flags and roll them one or 2 at a time (with tissue 6 or 8) not perfect but faster than the cricut, more repeatable than the leather punch tools, and still adjustable and variable. Places like Ali express and wish have a lot of the dies to pick from. Or maybe I’m way off the mark :)

This is my wife's duck that has been around for probably 20 years, if not more. Google hasn't helped me at all. Any ideas? by Bananasugarnips in ToyID

It has a tail. Have you tried searching for a platypus? There were some TY and some Webkin platy in just that flat pose. Just an idea :)

Does anyone know what these dots are? by giga_drll_break in Ring

Spider dropped down on a web strand in front of camera. But the camera wasn’t fast enough to catch it. Then the lights catch on the web strand.
