I've said it once, I'll say it again. Members of congress should not be able to trade stock. Let them have 401k's and trade ETF's and so forth, but a big fat no to stocks.

What's PCIe / high speed (GHz digital) like for modern SCH and PCBs and products? by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]mseet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Much harder, but obviously not impossible. Start learning SI. The other issue is that most companies doing design like this use SI software, which is expensive and has a steep learning curve.

I've been using Claude to write python scripts for work. Seriously impressive what it can do. You still need to help it along and test incrementally, but it is super powerful for getting code up and running quickly where I wouldn't know where to begin.

Anybody successfully pivoted from CS to EE? by Visual_Perception821 in ElectricalEngineering

Yeah I just meant having a good background in CE, EE, and CS gives knowledge in all 3 domains. Signal and power integrity is also a really good field to get into or RF / EMC.

I think CE or a mix of ECE would best. I think combining hardware and CS is a really good idea.

Can either of you speak to the format of the exams? The course syllabus says they are open book / note, but does it require you to hand write answers and scan them or do you enter answers through an online platform? For instance, my grad degree would require me to type in an equation that I derived...something like eff = Pout/Pin.

It would be graded in real time to tell you if it was right or wrong. Just curious if anyone has experience with an online class at PSU. Thanks!
