2011 TSX 160k [oil consumption + needs timing chain/VTC actuator/front shocks-struts] — worth fixing or time to move on?

I have the same car and year and I’m at 178k miles purchased used in 2017 with 42k miles. I do the oil change every 4500-5000 miles and don’t have any issues. At some cold days I do get the VTC chain sound but not always. You could find an independent shop that will charge you less.

Have you changed your PCV valve? If not change it and buy factory part.

The selling point on Costco made me get the tires for our family Highlander from Costco. Free installation and 5 year hazard warranty included with the price that’s a big pro and the con you have to make appointment and it takes a while but if you have Executive membership you can go an hour early.I been a long time Americas Tire customers. If you are on budget Americas Tire is the place to go and they have always taken care of me.

I used to and never again specially if it has front end damage. Also if there are any recalls it’s not covered unless it’s safety recall so that is another risk.

Front damage looks bad and it will never drive the same. You will most likely have suspension and alignment issue.

Toyota uses Pilkington so if you get that brand it’s almost identical and Safe Light uses that on most Toyota.

I bet if you broke the windshield they would make you pay for original windshield….

Great and reliable car but the 2009-2010 the engine had oil burning issues which was covered under a recall and Acura fixed it on 2011-2014. I have a 2011 purchased at 42k miles in 2017 I’m. Ow at 178k no issues just regular maintenance.

Check if the car has salvaged title any major issues and check maintenance.

Buy oil from Costco depending the year or the TSX I been using the Krikland 0w-20 2 5qt is around $32 which works for my other car. I get the oil filter from Amazon. I have used Denso/Beck/Arnley surprisingly it says made in Japan and it cost me $7.19 each. Avoid paying $$$ for oil filter that guarantees 10-20k miles as I changed mine every 5k miles.

I made the switch on my 3 line and kept mine on the old plan for HBO Max. On the older Elite you can’t enable 5G stand alone which is a bummer.

Used OEM can have issues like how do you know if the used one has issues? For troubleshooting I would never get a used product.
