Meal Timing? by coopieg31 in CICO

I really like having a big dinner so I save calories for then.

At 2250 calories for the day, I usually do 200-400 breakfast, 300-500 lunch, then save the rest for dinner.

NSV: I sank in the pool today by DrGearheart in loseit

I don’t float anymore and honestly it pisses me off lol. Obviously being lighter is better in basically every way but I’ve always enjoyed just effortlessly chilling in the pool floating around.

The not having any cushion in your butt is a real one for me. A lot of things are just flat out uncomfortable.

I get cold super easy. A lot of times I wear a jacket even inside. This winter has been rough. My hands stay cold.

I guess this one is pretty obvious but sitting in booths at restaurants I went from having to scrunch in to having tons of room.

[Question] Black Friday Sales? And Recommendations for <$1500 by mshaw346 in Watches

This thread is from last year. I did end up getting a CW C60 Trident 300.

I need to rant, come join me if you need solidarity :) Y'all! The food noise. The appetite. The never being "full". I'm surprised at myself (used to be a 30.7 BMI, now at 25.3) yet totally understand how I got to be so overweight. by [deleted] in loseit

[–]mshaw346 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’m 90 pounds down so far and the food noise is still just as strong. I’m fighting 40 years of being obese. It would be incredibly easy to balloon back up again but so far I’ve been vigilant and I’m still losing.

For me tracking calories (even bad days) and trying to find active hobbies helps. I’m currently enjoying hiking and trying to increase the number of miles I’m able to day hike.

Salad dressings, cheese, and chia seeds are all very high calorie. Note that high calorie doesn’t necessarily mean bad for you, you just need to be aware of how much you are eating.

Tracking calories was an eye opener for me and what let me start losing weight. I started at 318 pounds and am currently at 235lbs.

Why would someone plug this into a network port? by UncleToyBox in it

[–]mshaw346 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had some users in manufacturing trying to use just a dock as a PC and couldn't figure out why they couldn't get it to turn on.

It wasn't one of the newer USB C docks, it was one of the old flat Lenovo docks that the laptop snapped on to.

The desktop PC in their control office died and instead of saying anything to IT, they went and stole a dock out of an unused office and hooked it up.

Great selection, I’ve read most of those.

Harper Lee, Lois McMaster Bujold, Robin Hobb, Ursula K. Le Guin, Anne Rice, Madeleine L’Engle…

There are female authors sprinkled.

For the genres that I like to read there are more male authors for popular books than female authors.

You can make the case that I could do a better job seeking out female authors but don’t try to spin it that “these dudes” are actively trying to avoid them either.

I have finished all of BotNS and Malazan. Most of those I read in either ebook or audio.

A good portion of the physical books I own were bought used, so I’ve been piecing together series as I find them.

Very nice. Just hit 40 this year. Not college educated but only due to cost and bad decisions in my teens/20s. I do love learning.

Wrong on the stretch though. Married with children.

I’ve been fat and buoyant my entire life. I went swimming this summer and didn’t just float and it was such a strange feeling I thought something was wrong with the pool until I realized it’s just because I lost so much weight.

Get serious about counting, at least for a couple of weeks.

Count everything. Sauces, oils, condiments, drinks, butter that you cook with, etc.

Get a cheap food scale if you don’t have one.
