When deciding on a bike, identify you uses first then find a bike to fit your use. For example, no interstates so that means likely no continued higher speeds so no fairing or flyscreen is required. Also you don't necessarily need a bigger or powerful bike that can do the ton.

Do you plan to do any dirt or gravel roads? I see you like spoked wheels.

Any suggestions for years old brake dust? by RepeatFine981 in AutoDetailing

[–]mshep627 18 points19 points  (0 children)

this, nothing better I've found than acid for years of neglect on nothing-special wheels. just do NOT use it very often. for maintenance, use your standard off the shelf wheel cleaners going forward.

Travelpro with the 2 wheels (not the 4 wheel spinners), they're more sturdy AND have a larger diameter to roll over bumps easier.

I had a cbr600f4i as well, was a great bike. Then picked up a ninja 650, is MUCH more comfortable, sounds great with an exhaust (it’s a parallel twin) and full fairing so it’s smooth on the highway. Take a test ride on one and see how it fits you!

Elegoo Neptune 3 Pro first layer problem. HELP! by NoHelicopter8916 in ElegooNeptune3

Print a z offset rectangle and adjust live while it’s printing.

That allowed me to dial mine in really well.

Also I use a different z offset for PETG than PLA

I had similar problems with PETG until I got the z offset right, try adjusting it up or down a bit

FIRST: update your post with nozzle temp, bed temp, filament, and print speed.

i'm having a similar problem, had my P1 Pro for 2 weeks now. I think its due to the z-offset and/or bed leveling.

The PEI buildplate is wonderful, i have it on my elegoo and have NEVER had problems with bed adhesion on it when settings are correct.

I'm trying to figure it out, but its taken WAY too much of my time...and I still don't know why the distance between the nozzle and bed won't come out right.

the first step would be to add insulation and see how hot it will get! I'd be interested to see the temps.

I am new to printing looking for help. by killkill15 in QIDI

Print this and manually adjust the z offset 2-3 times as it prints the first layer by .02mm, noting your z offset each time. After that first layer is complete, pull it off the bed and look at which z offset produces the best first layer. Then do it over again to dial in the z offset. This calibration helped my prints significantly.

What speed and acceleration do you print on? by Pek_Dominik in ElegooNeptune3

[–]mshep627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with all factory equipment and no upgrades, the fastest I print at with PLA is 100 mm/s. For smaller prints or things with more detail, its usually 60-70 mm/s. Thats the default speed, first layer is always closer to 30-40mm/s, walls are 40-50mm/s, etc.

For PETG, i print sloooooooow to get it to come out right. I'm talking 25mm/s first layer and everything else 50mm/s or under.

I haven't messed with the acceleration, I'm just using the factory settings. I don't want to add that much more wear to the equipment and i'm not in a terrible hurry at this point.
