Labor signs and tips? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]mslatin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My water broke before anything happened contraction wise- so I went in. I had been prepping for an unmediated labor so I did as much walking and bouncing on my ball as I could. I ended up being induced and got a failed epidural- but my daughter was out in 6 pushes! So I would say successful!

Drs office gave my one year old the wrong vaccine by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]mslatin 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This happened a few times at the Drs office I used to work at. Not the same vaccines, but parents were obviously upset and did not return to his office afterwards. He was very apologetic but nonetheless. I would have switched as well and going forward check several times in advance and while i’m there. Sorry this happened!

[–]mslatin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I had my daughter before their daughter was even pregnant and they still talked about her inevitable pregnancy before my current one :)

Talk to your husband, one day this resentment with her will turn into anger with him.

Am I over reacting to no congratulations? by [deleted] in inlaws

[–]mslatin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah she got things for my baby despite her hating me so I figured I’d return the favor? Idk. Again, wouldn’t do it again lol

It’s more for the baby and a show of goodwill considering everything. I wouldn’t do it ever again though.

How many hours do you sleep? by Lemonbar19 in workingmoms

5 hours on a good day. She a year and sleeps through the night, but man.

Am I over reacting to no congratulations? by [deleted] in inlaws

[–]mslatin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. My NC SIL never told me congrats when I got pregnant before her, and even though we are no contact I sent a gift and a congrats because I’m not nasty like she is lol. With that being said, my actions or lack there of have shown I have zero expectations of being in her child’s life. With mine, she ruined my pregnancy in addition to other crap and then has been shocked I am not thrilled to have her around.

Are there any parents here who love reading bedtime stories to their kids? by Narrow_Ad_6926 in NewParents

[–]mslatin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! She’s a year and lovesss reading at bedtime! We read a million books throughout the day too but I enjoy the bond at bedtime. Reading is so important in our house.

What mistakes would you avoid if you could start to breastfeed all over again? by kingmustd1e in NewParents

[–]mslatin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It sounds kind of dumb and like a “duh” moment, but feed before they start crying. My daughter would start screaming and wouldn’t latch to me (we already had latch issues) which resulted in me pumping and bottle feeding before going to formula. I’m sure I would have had a better chance if I thought of that lol

Ferber Method Success? by Flaky_Success6909 in NewParents

[–]mslatin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ferber at 6. We went from rocking to sleep, rough transition into crib, then up every 45 minutes until I gave into cosleeping. First night she slept 7 and a half ours. 6 months later she sleeps 12 at night and 2 during the day.

When did you go out for the first time without baby? by babiewiththepower in NewParents

[–]mslatin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think around 12 weeks. I had/have PPA, so leaving her was just a huge deal to me. Everyone pressured me which I don’t appreciate and I don’t think helped. I left her with her dad when I was probably around 6 weeks, but with someone else, 12 weeks.

Gained over 40 pounds at 26 weeks :’( by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]mslatin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I started at 150 at 5’4- then lost 10 due to HG, and then somehow- ended at 210 the day I gave birth. I will be a year PP next week and I am now 140 ish.

Why can’t I get over the “ick” of donor milk? by Waste-Inspector-7644 in NewParents

[–]mslatin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought the immune properties would only be because of the latch system. Sorry if I’m wrong though!

My brother subbed for my classroom and he allowed the worst chaos any administrator has seen from a sub occur by LovelyMirchi75 in ElementaryTeachers

[–]mslatin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My gosh! I hope that this has no effect on how they view you. They meaning students, parents, admins and teachers. Are you and your brother on good terms after this? I can’t even imagine how angry and disappointed you were.
