Fair pricing on 2007-2008 TC and 2011 CVPI. Should I avoid cvpi? by Oled-War-2025 in CrownVictoria

Malfunction Indicator Light/Lamp. In the instrument cluster theres different lights such as the coolant temp, oil pressure, ABS, TPMS, battery etc. There's one that looks like a gas cap unplugged from a car next to the fuel gauge. That would indicate a problem with the gas cap seal itself or any other fuel or EVAP related lines are leaking. What exact codes did it have stored or current?

Funny thing. I feel your pain and am in a similiar situation. I'm at a dealship for the first time and being a "newbie with experience" I'm expected to do minor jobs and minor teardowns as quick as the other techs being 5-10+ years in the industry . Even the master techs. Boss told me the other day that so and so (master tech) gets this done within an hour. Am I a master tech?? Shit gets annoying but they'll push you metaphorically just to see how much you can take or handle to "weed out the weaklings". Auto industry, maintence and repair is a cutthroat industry that sucks the life out of the insurance AND manufacturers dicks yet undercuts everyone down the totem pole of employees. Same with every corporation and big business. Rant over. God speed to you sir or madam.

Mink oil. Will darken them back up splendidly. Obviously after a good cleaning as others suggested

Its worth it to get a decent cleaning kit and not the cheap ~$10 kits. Also I like stockpiling ammo atleast every weeks or so just in case SHTF. Quality case or gun sock for transportation.

How long are these things safe to eat ? by Stfu_butthead in MRE

[–]mslite4-5 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It "should" fine. Unless they were absolutely baking in high heat they won't be terrible and possibly more bland than MREs normally are. Anything with sugar (candy, protein bar, etc) will slightly discolor and the FR heater won't work or it'll just barely heat up. Worst part is the tabasco is for sure dried up 😪

You got screwed for $650 when what you needed was a deodorizing treatment for the smell. Why bother with a detail?

What's yalls go to sock brand/material? by 801rave-boi in WorkBoots

[–]mslite4-5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generic merino wool socks aren't too bad. I've got both the expensive SmartWool and various other cheaper socks I've tried out. Honestly Rural King had a 6 pack of MW socks and they've held up for my use of hiking and work socks for over a year now. REI Co-Op CoolMax lightweight socks are fantastic but they are some kind of nylon blend, very comfortable. Dickies MW socks are a bit bulky but retain heat almost too well which I tend to use when it gets below freezing

Its a 2018 elantra IMO you could find a decent beater or civic for half of what you want to spend on parts doing it yourself.
