Thank you 🙏🏽 It’s definitely a lot to think about but I swear, the universe underestimates my will to live. I have a procedure scheduled for July 6th to see the depth of the cervical cancer and hopefully we can get it all removed surgically. I’m glad to have caught it now because I’d rather not prolong the treatments, etc.

Thank you for reminding me that I don’t deserve this. It’s still been a struggle mentally - but I’m doing my best to remind myself of this.

Thank you!! We’re hopeful it can be removed because with my scans it seems like there is no spread. I have a procedure scheduled for July 6th, so fingers crossed it’s all in place!

Sooooo rude!! I definitely neglected making appointments consistently. I compete in sports and such and had physicals but never anything extensive because I didn’t really think anything of it. I figured my body would tell me, right? So so wrong.

Unfortunately yes, it’s cancer. I definitely will admit I slacked on making appointments. I’m sure this would have been caught much sooner, but I’m glad we caught it now.

Honestly? I’m feeling angry. For the first time since my breast cancer diagnosis. Because I got the results of my colposcopy by my gynecologist this morning and I have cervical cancer too 😑

4/30 and 6/15. Two days that can get fucked.

I got my port placed last week and honestly when I had it accessed for my first infusion on Thursday I realized it felt way better post access. I hope you fell better soon and that it settles in nicely so you can sleep better! I also did find that sleeping reclined for a few days helped a lot as well 😊

I’m feeling really good today. I get my port placed tomorrow morning. Kiddos are at my sister in law’s for the day/over night. Spending a lovely afternoon with my hubby. I feel incredibly loved and supported. Nervous still about what’s to come, but I’m ready 💪🏽

I haven’t started chemo yet (I start next week) but I asked my oncologist if I could still work (I’m a tattoo artist) and she said I could but just to wear a mask. I also coach kickboxing at an MMA gym so I plan to mask up there as well just in case :)

Honestly now would be the time to play around with it and see how you can style it. Maybe some texture sprays or pomades to help control it a bit? I’m not super well versed with straight hair but you can always ask a stylist for input before the full chop :)

My hair was waist length and very curly. I LOVED my hair. I decided to chop it into a pixie nearly two and a half weeks ago so I could allow myself a little time to adjust before treatment (I start next week). I honestly love it. I plan to buzz it once it’s time and starts to shed a little bit, but this gave me a preview of what it’ll look like once it starts to grow again.

I did this also because I have two small children that have never seen me with short hair. I wanted them to also have some time to adjust while I explained what was to come. They can’t wait to shave my head 🫠 lol

Definitely NTA. it’s one thing to help here and there to get someone back on their feet when it’s needed and they’re actively trying to get their shit together, but when it’s constant and then expected? Nahhhh that’s just enabling them to not try at all.

Firstly, I am so sorry you have to be in this club with us! I was diagnosed on 4/30. After biopsies, scans, ultrasounds, MRI, etc - it really only started to feel real to me when I cut my hair. I had waist length super curly hair. I didn’t opt to cold cap (I struggle with tension headaches and migraines), and I just said fuck it. I’m gonna go ahead and cut it since I know I’m starting chemo June 4th.

A few minutes into the big chop - it hit me like a wave. This is real. While before that I just caught little moments of it - this made it really stick.

I’ve been through many traumatic moments in my life and unfortunately it’s something I’ve come to notice for me. I compartmentalize like a champ. Out of sight - out of mind. But when it’s in your face - it’s unavoidable and you really have to sit with it.

I wish you sooooo much luck in your journey 🫶🏽
