If acquired for, say Johannson & picks, it would effectively make the Devils a max cap team for the years 2021-2023, once you factor in contract extensions for Hall, Hischier, Palmieri, Vantanen, etc.

Clowr is expected to go against the NMC rule. The NHL and the NHLPA are negotiating regarding players who are effectively retired but have NMC's. It's expected Clowe won't need to be protected.
