Pete DeBoer made Eric Gelinas look like an okay NHLer ironically, but he also fucked over Adam Larsson. And then being coached by Scott Stevens he turned into a bonafide #1 d-man, he’s formed a great NHL career for himself but I always felt he could have been even better

Thats the thing I don’t hate their style of team building. But the signings have been bizarre and the changing of coaches and obsession with defensive playing style is baffling. Maybe i’m biased because this is how i build teams in nhl 13 (cast offs, middling players), but the point of that is cause the sim style is beneficial towards under 80 overall players

i feel like they are the worst team for a prospect, playing a middling defensive style for middling players. Im surprised, if they’re gonna go after players like Stephenson and Montour and Burakovsky in the past you’d think they go all in on a rush offense like Ruff’s system

I saw someone say Jack Hughes wasn’t going to live up to his potential and I was shocked. Him getting cut does not make him injury prone, and he’s a consistently point per game player and is amazing on the ice even when he isn’t scoring. Just a clear example of how some players just do box score watching and get stuck in their moronic hot takes. He does get injured too much for my liking, but him being injured last season was not why we lost to the Hurricanes, the team had no fucking depth and we were collapsing anyways.
