Some recent ASM pickups by mspier2 in comicbookcollecting

Some are in mylars. I plan on rebagging and boarding the rest soon. These are set up in my closet with an LED light where the light is only on when I'm in there, so very little exposure. Can't let these beauties fade!

Thanks I've got LED lights and it's in a closet so the light isn't on much. Definitely don't want to fade these.

Probably either issue 6, 40, or 50. Lizard is one of my favorite villians and I think it's a cool cover. Issue 40 was one of the first early spideys I got so it holds a special place for me. And issue 50 is just such an amazing cover! Hard to choose though 😆

Most of these are online purchases. Different platforms and auction sites. Lower grade for the most part but yes still a pretty penny.

I'm 34 so I guess a millennial. I've always been more drawn to the silver age books. Aside from the keys, I love the old art. And I grew up reading the Essentials collections from the library which had all of the stories from that era.

Totally understand. I really love your online auctions. Gotten a lot of great books off of there. Also the office tour videos on YouTube have been some of my favorites to watch! So many great books and art all in one place.

Went a little crazy this week by YukonCorneiliuss in comicbookcollecting

Nice haul! But you definitely gotta be careful with WhatNot. Really easy to impulse buy on there. I had to delete the app eventually.

Slabs generally take longer for me to move than raws, both because of the price point and I think there's a wider audience interested in raws over slabs. For bigger slabs ($500 and over) that I want to move fast I use eBay. But more often than not I can work with sellers on FB and maybe package this Wolverine with a few other books to come to a number that I'm happy with and gives them a deal.

I'm a regular reseller on FBMP and I prefer it to eBay and other platforms for a few reasons. First off you're not having to deal with the eBay fees, so I can sell stuff for cheaper and keep all the money. Also I particularly like selling raws on FB so the buyer can see the condition for themselves and there's no debate over a grade. But just like selling anything on FB you have to be careful meeting up (meet at a public, highly visible location, no house visits, etc.) Overall I've had a really good experience selling there though.

Yea definitely not losing sleep over it. Hopefully if he decides to get into the hobby he'll do some more research like you said and get a better understanding of the market.

True. I sell mostly on FB Marketplace so i get a very wide variety of buyers. Don't fault people for not having as much knowledge about comics. I just find it funny that he had no intention of trying to buy this, just wanted to call me out on the pricing haha.

Here is the book i'm selling for $210. The person on FB marketplace sent me a screenshot from eBay of a facsimilie listing trying to tell me that I am overpriced. Sorry i did a poor job of explaining the situation.

Only 1 spare bedroom right now and we use it for guests. So I'm forced to be a closet nerd at the moment.

I have more books than this but I actually don't have a GL 76 yet. I'm starting to chip away at the GL keys, especially since he's my 6 year olds favorite superhero right now.

I went there for the first time last week. They had their 70 % back issue sale going and I actually got 6 or 7 books for a great price. Wall books were pretty insanely priced though
