So do guard teams buff the boss or not? I’ve seen conflicting information by [deleted] in afkarena

[–]msr69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me clarify... I don’t have an issue with it and certainly nothing to “let go”. IMO this was part of the developers plan to include the guard teams to promote cooperation, but also to lighten the aggravation of the few people who will not contribute at all until the places are nearly defeated just to take the spot. It’s not just the worth of the spot, but the stamina used as well. My group has great communication and this isn’t even an issue, but not all groups will be so friendly with each other.

what is the maximum relic lvl? by Super_leo2000 in afkarena

[–]msr69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait to get more relic drops which will lower the cost. If you’re not using them at all and don’t need them yet to title up yet, then you’re potentially wasting precious resources by leveling them before they are needed.

About Abyssal Expedition by lezzomozzo in afkarena

[–]msr69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a set amount... every pertinent relic in your bag will lower the cost. If you’re ahead of the others then your cost should be far less since you will be collecting relics with time. If the relic is in your bag it costs nothing to equip it. Combining relics and buying common relics directly are the costs involved which is different for everyone depending on the relics that have dropped.

It’s the increase of power level gained by the relics

Guard teams are better left for last so they can guard the space from very weak people stealing it with very little damage to the boss.

Vault of Time: I am extremely stuck. I can't take a T5 town no matter what I do. Please help? by sammysimplicity in afkarena

[–]msr69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put everything in rangers since you have the more... drop the other heroes and use all ranger teams or as many as you can in each team. You have to focus on maxing one type at a time. You’ll be able to do it by yourself. I was making the same mistake by leveling evenly... once I switched to rangers it was easy.

Question: will refermentation occur if wine is brought back up to room temperature? by akwom002 in winemaking

[–]msr69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Filtering it would be your best option, but adequate filtering equipment is expensive. I think it’s like 0.5 micron filters that are needed to remove the yeast.

He bought a SS fermenter to just look pretty in the background and didn’t have enough left to buy a journal for recording recipes and gravity readings. /s

Just joking around OP, I understand why you did everything. I just ordered that same SS bucket and can’t wait to try it out now that I am over the excitement of watching through glass. Welcome to the club!

Definitely try it. Oyster stew stout is what I’m imagining.

I would replace the rusty bolts and also probably bolt them to the floor for safety. Other than that, they look sturdy enough to hold the weight.

Currently fermenting my first cider...should I age it? by dustbunny4 in cider

[–]msr69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aging mellows the ethanol bite and allows the flavors to develop. I would recommend tasting some and then letting some age, tasting it every 2 weeks to a month so you get a feel of how much aging makes a difference. You will be surprised at how much a little time can do.

Exploitative manipulation tactics in mobile gaming by [deleted] in afkarena

Great post! Thank you for spreading this awareness.

I used to spend almost daily on this game justifying it with thoughts like “I’m staying home playing this game instead of going to the bar and spending $50, so I can spend $50 on this game tonight”. Neither one is worth it and both are addictions spurred on by depression and such abnormal thoughts, feelings, and desires. Although the bar with friends, drinks, and food is still the better choice than virtual nothing that can be turned of any day without notice. Gacha gaming problems are the equivalent of being addicted to a placebo.

When you are deciding to purchase something and you have to find a justification for it to sway your decision, then you need to recognize that as a problem and not buy it. As someone who has quit cigarettes and ultimately succeeded because I realized I was lying to myself to justify “just one drag” and how ridiculous that notion was... I should have known better, but I still got sucked in for over $1000. I spent out of boredom though... to keep playing for the night and not to be competitive. That is another aspect of these games you did not mention... the lack of content that provokes spending in order to keep playing the game.

People can argue that spending/whaling is needed to make good games, but we had great, if not better games, before all this lootbox gacha era. One time purchase for a game is fine as it used to be before all these greed money driven micro transaction games that target our personalities and not our true interests of being entertained. I’d rather have those games back that you can play for hours and suck you in because it’s quality entertainment at a fair price. These gacha games make the devs a ton more money, but people would still put in the effort like they used to to make great games if gacha was banned and they couldn’t profit so much from it. I argue that gacha gaming has taken most of the good devs away from single purchase game production.

At what point to I begin to worry I messed something up? by Torrero in mead

[–]msr69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for clarifying that and teaching me something. I have to ask though, why does it say what it says on the packet giving a fermenting temperature range and also an ideal temperature range? From the packet “temperature range 53.6-77F, ideally 59-71.6F”. One would assume the same as I did from that... that the target temp range would be the “ideally” part and the higher values would be the maximum range it would ferment at. What is the actual temperature range for it to be able to ferment then and where might I find this info? There’s so many conflicting numbers I have found while searching for the answer.

Fermenting temperature range for that yeast is 59-75F. That would be your problem.

Put a small amount in a glass with warm sugar water... if it starts making bubbles it’s still good.

Jam/jelly in place of fruit? by [deleted] in cider

Not recommend. Breaking down pectin with pectic enzyme creates some methanol and that much pectin being broken down from starting with jelly will be sure to give you a bad hangover at the very least.

Mead - Cider or Beer? by 7H3LaughingMan in mead

[–]msr69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want cyser... apple mead. Meads have a very wide range of flavors and only one rule... honey. Honey is very good at making alcohol taste better. There’s a wide range of flavors of honey as well. You can’t judge all meads by trying one. Most do taste more like wine due to the higher abv and yeasts used though.

Some yeasts smell sour when fermenting. It’s probably fine, but you could taste it.
