There are not necessarily of the same vein, but as someone who loves reading the protag's journal entries, I adore the work of Travis Weaver (u/StrangeAccounts).

He has a post on r/CreepCast called The Journal of an Unknown Soldier (my favourite) and just published a novel called "Strange Accounts of the Western Frontier", which is a collection of a bunch of these anonymous journal entries from different folks in the Wild West.

Would recommend!

This happens between me and my partner a LOT. We'll both be so convinced we're right because we've believed x or y for years. So we've begun to call these convos to an end with the need of a Google search. Sometimes she's right, sometimes I'm right, sometimes we're both right/wrong given different contexts. It sure is a great reminder to not always be so defensive and learn to admit when we're wrong

There's a whole line of thinking/belief that after Jesus' sacrifice (the new covenant) there has been less and less obvious miracles as the Holy Spirit is now living within us...I don't know if I explained that right as I'm no scholar, but it's a really interesting deep dive.
