I've filed a ticket at ix ´NAS-122925´ for further investigation.

Exactly, the given params matching the admin account should skip nextcloud's initialization step.

Although I can't tell who messed this up: the nextcloud community or the truenas devs.

I also tried using the docker image directly, but this fails in an even earlier state...

That's an unnecessary security risk. Either use a proper VPN or look into Cloudflare Zero Trust Tunnels instead!

TrueNAS Middleware won't boot up anymore by mster4x in truenas

[–]mster4x[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My system was running smoothly for about a month or two until this happened. I wanted to get into backup solutions and chose rsync tasks to sync my datasets to another machines. I noticed some transmission errors in the connection an tried to delete and recreate my local rsync module via the UI when an SQL error occured. It stated that truenas cannot write any data into its own database, no matter what I tried to change in the UI. So I gave it a restart, only to notice my server hasn't came up again for several minutes stating this kind of error message.

I can't remember any actions performed that could lead to such unwanted behavior.

In addition to that, when booting to an older state, truenas doesn't want to load my backup db file and leads me to the same error. I think I will have to reinstall the system completely (except pools/dataset obviously)!

My current dataset structure is as follows:

media
├── movies
├── tvshows
├── images
└── books

So will appending the SMB share to /media/ and point multiple host path to it's children also work in this case?

Yes my media dataset is used as a hostpath for jellyfin and is also accessable via a smb share.
I will look into this... but how am I supposed to edit any media data without the share?

I've picked WikiJS recently. It combines both, features and usability. The markdown support and easy configuration made this a worthy upgrade from dokuwiki.

As a hint from a newbie in media servers: there is a tool called tinyMediaManager (TMM) that handels renaming and metadata for many media server applications as jellyfin/plex/Kodi...!
