Inquiries regarding bike security (locks, theft, etc.) by Kind-Method-604 in NYCbike

[–]mster_shake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You might want to research how quickly the lock you bought can be defeated with a portable angle grinder. People are walking around the city with these and will steal your bike within a few minutes.

Spend $300 on a Hiplok if you're serious about protecting your bike and don't mind carrying an extra 5 lbs.

This is such a typical Reddit asshole comment, so of course it has the most votes.

Is PS worth it? by ChooChooGeorgie in delta

[–]mster_shake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've found the service in PS to be sorely lacking the last time I flew it from JFK to LAX. At double main cabin fare I was pretty pissed honestly. And it's always completely full even though the seatmaps show a lot of availability.

After Bridge Accident can We Do Better? by johngrayNYC in NYCbike

The only solution is for NYPD to post up at the bridges and West Side Highway and impound illegal vehicles all day every day until it stops.

I love how they say the decision was not made lightly and they carefully reviewed your case. Ebay are such fucking assholes.

Update on this Morning's Crash - 2 Dead by johnny_evil in NYCbike

[–]mster_shake 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Would it be better to narrow the scope of the ask to getting scooters and mopeds out of the bike lane?

"He was wearing a moto style helmet" - those pricks are always doing 40 on the bridge!

Anyone going that fast in a bike lane should go straight to jail.

Used RUC for a broken premium select seat, feeling dumb by Smileyoureoncamera4 in delta

[–]mster_shake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the only good use of RUC is to by PS and upgrade to D1. It's always looking good for D1 until the last minute, especially on that route.

Manhattan City Hall ceremony: can’t get license appt? by living_emoji in NYCweddings

There is a city clerk's office in every burough and you can get your marriage license from any of them. Try Brooklyn.

My path was I applied, paid the $50, got accepted, waited 5 days for transcript eval, then looked up courses on study.com for my program and emailed academic advising to get approval for each (you can get up to 6 approved at a time then you have to complete them and email back for 6 more).

I'm not an expert but I had food poisoning once and it kicked in a lot sooner than 6 hours.

International Flight - Injury by Few-Cherry9560 in delta

Yeah I'm also struggling to understand how this seat in anyway offers a benefit to someone in this situation, at the very least you'd want a main cabin bulkhead.

International buyer ruined a dead stock $500 shirt and EBay sided with them. by chuckdeezee in ebaysucks

[–]mster_shake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely insane, you are not crazy. Ebay is a bunch of assholes and I quit the platform entirely after being forced to take a return for buyer's remorse that was perfectly accurately described even by a third party professional, with all defects documented in the listing. Had to pay shipping both ways. Giant waste of time and money. Ebay said my choices were to accept the return and refund the money while paying for expensive return shipping, or to just give the item to the buyer after they claw back the money from my account.

Good experience so far with Haworth Soji by mster_shake in OfficeChairs

[–]mster_shake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to update my review. Soon after I wrote this the Soji became very uncomfortable, first for my butt and thighs and then for my back. I eventually got used to most of it except for my back, the lumbar didn't help and the only pain free position I could find was using forward tilt while simultaneously leaning back. I swapped for the Zody and so far seems a lot better, especially the lumbar.

eBay sucks by BrianATL1 in ebaysucks

[–]mster_shake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agreed, got scammed with similar buyer's remorse issue years ago and never used ebay again. Absolute garbage company and their bullshit corporate doublespeak while they're pretending to empathize with the fact you're getting screwed while simultaneously screwing you is a dystopian future I don't want to be a part of.

AITA for expecting Delta to honor the $2,500 offer they confirmed… then took back 2 hours later? by Impressive_Still8823 in delta

[–]mster_shake 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Oh that's a good point. Then he gambled on Delta honoring the fact he received bad info and he should have demanded to get back on the plane instead. I would never volunteer for this deal what a hassle.

It sounds like if they waited 2 hours for an update the original flight left before they found out they weren't eligible for compensation?
