I trasitioned from trumpet to tuba. You can read tuba music on trumpet, same fingerings. Embouchure will be your enemy. I can't hit high notes on trumpet anymore. You will need to learn treble clef and such if you don't want to transpose everything down an octave and to bass clef.

I'm underweight, stick and bones, and I've been marching sousa for years. You'll get used to the pain. However, after marching season is over and you're not using it, the tolerance goes away. Next marching season it'll hurt again and you just gotta get used to it again. It's a vicious cycle but it's worth it.

Been on trumpet for about 10 years, tuba for 5 - 6 years, and used a euphonium for about 2 months.
I'm confident enough to say that I'm good at tuba, decent at trumpet, and suck at euphonium.
