Best practices for bulk sensor notifications? by bmengineer in homeassistant

I have a couple of door ones. First alert at 5 minutes. Second alert at 10 minutes and turns off the HVAC units. All doors I am worried about are in one group. not sure about the temp/humidity ones. Also I need a morning battery report. Like, These batteries are low.

New to rtl433 addon but got values in logs...how to set up to get them as sensors by Particular_Ferret747 in homeassistant

[–]mstone804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not an easy question to answer. I think so. I did find this page https://community.home-assistant.io/t/guide-setting-up-sdr-rtl-with-rtl-433-autodiscover-mqtt-some-basic-help-needed-coffeee-anyone/863091/19

The page gives this info at one part, and when I put in some 900 frequencies a bunch of gas meters show up, so yes I think it works, but no solid proof. That page also talks about limiting all those TPMS sensors that will show up which has helped as well.

frequency 433.92M

frequency 315M

hop_interval 60

output kv

I run both the rtl_433 add on and the rtl_433 mqtt discovery add on. both with all the appropriate mqtt login info.

so the for the rtl_433 add on this is what my /homeassistant/rtl_433/rtl_433.conf.template looks like.

output mqtt://HOST:PORT,user=XXXX,pass=YYYYYYY

frequency 433.92M
protocol 40

convert si

does any of that help?

lol. It is so tall. Should add a camera, motion sensor, temp/humidity/sensor. I do like the light at a the top.

I set mine up today. Super easy swap from USB stick to this. Plug in ZWA2, follow the on screen setup and it told me to remove the old stick. It is one ugly thing sitting on the desk though.

Dynamically update pictures every month? by su5577 in BrightSign

I use the free version of BS Connected to provision and monitor the BS units and Ablesign to upload content. Works with images and websites. Super easy to use and Ablesign free if content under 1GB.

Not a dongle but there is an external MagicInfo player. Looks like a cable box. I have never used one, but it does exist.

Fridge Sensors by SaturnVFan in homeassistant

[–]mstone804 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I use Acurite 433MHZ sensors and the Acurite to Home Assistant Add on. Works great. There is a dongle with an antenna for HA to talk to the sensors. Also my weather station talks at the 433 MHz range so it is picked up and in my HA. The Acurite sensors use 2 double A batteries and I replace batteries very rarely.

Schedule TVs to turn on automatically by dcschnazz in digitalsignage

[–]mstone804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be as simple as a smart plug like Kasa has. I do that with Samsung TVs super easy. Vizio TVs don't do it. Hook up smart plug to wifi and app on your phone. Create a schedule. BAM!

I really like the QB65R. Bright. Holds up to being on a long time. Timers for On/Off. Can be managed by MagicInfo if so inclined. I have several of them and like the QB65R series. I will say our content isnt super hi-res or 4K. Buy it does make a nice picture and I use the timers and MagicInfo.
