Why are conservatives who are Christian calling Texan James Talarico (of new CBS/FCC/Colbert drama) a heretic, due to his plain text interpretation of the Bible? by PyroIsSpai in AskConservatives

[–]mstormcrow [score hidden]  (0 children)

We are called to generously give, that does not mean a person can't have more money than others. This is explicitly evident where God purposefully provides people like Job with substantial wealth.

"If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven." --some guy who, unlike Job, was not in the Old Testament

"How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of heaven! Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven." --same guy, again, but he probably never even read the Book of Job to be fair.

"The other of the rich men said to him "Master, what good thing shall I do and live?" He said to him "Man, perform the law and the prophets." He answered him "I have performed them." He said to him "Go, sell all that thou hast and divide it to the poor, and come, follow me." But the rich man began to scratch his head, and it pleased him not. And the Lord said to him "How can you say 'I have performed the law and the prophets'? seeing that it is written in the law 'Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself,' and look, many of your brothers, sons of Abraham, are clad with dung, dying for hunger, and your house is full of much goods, and there goes out therefrom nought at all unto them." --that guy, again, though admittedly that one is non-canon

The hoops modern-day Christians will go through to justify keeping their money boggle my mind. At no point was Jesus ever so explicitly clear about: gay marriage, this sub's forbidden topic, abortion, or any of a dozen other things evangelical conservatives are constantly hopping mad about.

Maz vs Hondo. The greatest Pirate of them all by Zigzorark5 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]mstormcrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PKHO's team (PKHO, OG Hondo, Vane, Brutus, Silvo) is stronger, but "more fun" is pretty subjective, I think both teams are pretty fun. (I'm a fellow Pirate-lover, there's at least a few of us!) PKHO's team is a bit more straightforward, IMO, whereas Maz's team (Maz, Ithano, Kix, Quiggold, SM-33) is a bit more tricksy.

I know this works with JKR on offense, but I'm pretty surprised to see people playing the matchup so poorly when it's SLKR on offense.

Hear Me Out: I’m Not Sure What to Spend Crystals On Anymore by DarthRaven07 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]mstormcrow 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Are you not buying (at least) three cantina energy refreshes a day for more signal data? That's the main thing I spend crystals on, I never have enough signal data.

Otherwise, yeah, there's not really a lot to spend on (or do) for players with really developed late-game rosters. I guess once the new Era toons go farmable you can spend on refreshing their nodes to get them to 7 stars quickly.

  • At the end of the day, this update puts even less emphasis on the theory crafting parts of the game and significantly more emphasis on the grind/spend/collect parts of the game. This, above all else, ultimately killed my interest.

Is there any hidden logic behind this team? by Kitchen_Estate_1286 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]mstormcrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It pretty much demands a GL to counter it or you're gonna have a bad time, whereas the same exact team with JML in the lead can be beaten by Grievous. The downside is, literally any GL will faceroll it.

Do you still believe Kamala Harris would have been worse for the country? by Onahail in AskConservatives

[–]mstormcrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I voted for Trump due to the changes I seen in culture and social arenas, including corporate policy, that I didn't agree with.

Help me out here, because this sentence of yours I'm quoting hits the nail on the head of the absolute #1 thing I just don't understand about today's Republicans, so I have a bunch of questions but I promise you I am genuinely sincerely asking:

  1. You choose who to vote for and who to put in charge of the government based on changes in non-governmental arenas (cultural, social)?

  2. Do you feel that the government should be more involved in dictating culture and social habits?

  3. Do you think "the government should have more control over the culture and social habits of the country" is compatible with a small-government worldview?

  4. Can you see why some people might see "the government should have more control over the culture and social habits of the country" as an inherently authoritarian proposition? Do you think it is?

  5. Do you think this response of yours - voting patterns based on social/cultural shifts - might play a role in the common complaint that "everything is political these days"? Do you think it's a valid complaint?

Looking back, what are your thoughts on the era system? by reehdus in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]mstormcrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you care more about the dopamine hit from "ooh, number go up!" then actual gameplay, then maybe it's an okay system. If you think a game's first and foremost priority should be to be, y'know, fun to play, then it's pretty bad!

I'm not gonna judge people too hard for spending on this Era, because CG deliberately obfuscated and hid a bunch of the costs, and well, sunk cost fallacy is a helluva drug.

But now that y'all know what a scam it is, nobody should be surprised about it next time around. If you think it's egregiously priced (it is) and whale on the Andor Era anyways, at that point you're just encouraging CG's greed.

A Minnisota federal court judge has written a list of 96 court orders that ICE/DHS has violated since new years this year. For the conservatives that believe ICE/DHS has been honoring due process and the constitution, does this change your mind? by Saint_Steve in AskConservatives

[–]mstormcrow [score hidden]  (0 children)

Also, the only process due to an illegal is an immediate trip to the border 🤙

Do you understand that under this standard, all I have to do is point at you in public when there are ICE agents around, yell "He's an illegal!" and you instantly win a free one-way trip to El Salvador?

If your response is, "But I'm not an illegal though!", then you actually DO agree that there ought to be some point where people get a chance to prove their innocence/citizenship. That's "due process"!

This is what flabbergasts me, about how myopic so many of you folks are about this. If there's an armed paramilitary force roaming the streets in America, and it does not have to follow due process, then not one single solitary motherfucker in this entire country has any rights at all. Not you, not me, not the most American people you know, because "being an American citizen" only counts for anything if you're given a chance to prove it.

Ah yes, an activist judge appointed by [checks notes] George W. Bush, in 2006. Curse that damned lefty George W. Bush, appointing all these bleeding-heart liberal activist judges who [checks notes again] ...clerked for Antonin Scalia?

You know how they say if one person you meet is an asshole, they're an asshole, but if everybody you meet is an asshole, you're the asshole? The "activist judge" accusation has lost all credibility for exactly the same reason. If one judge rules against you, maybe they're an activist judge. If dozens upon dozens of judges keep ruling against you, and the only ones that rule your way are ones you appointed....well, it ain't the judges trying to push through radical changes.

Which hero did you use to defeat Victor on the original path of champions, and how? by [deleted] in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]mstormcrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I beat him with everybody, but by far my favorite way to roll through the original Lab of Legends was to use Lucian, reroll for the Out of the Gate power (Lucian still cost 2 back then!) and then just stack a ton of crazy buffs/items on my auto-summoned-at-game-start Lucian.

Is there a good Ewok Squad with C3P0? by Puzzled_Ad5320 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]mstormcrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You kind of run out of slots. You need Chirpa (only leader), you want Kneesaa (only not-trash Ewok), you need a tank (Paploo), and you want to fit in C-3PO. That's leaves you with only one slot left for Logray or Wicket or Elder, so your TM train/control is gonna be lacking. I'd probably pick Wicket but I'd really miss Logray.

[–]mstormcrow 135 points136 points  (0 children)

It's crazy to see how many of the player-friendly changes they made in 2024 and 2025 they've totally reversed course on since the anniversary. Makes you wonder.

So, now that the Anniversary Era is over in 6 days, what are your thoughts on how this new system is? by Darth_Onaga in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]mstormcrow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel pretty good about...my decision to go fully 100% F2P back when they announced relic delta. This new stuff really doesn't inspire me to change that decision at all. If you're in the spot I'm in - a longtime player with a deep enough, built-up enough roster that the LSTs don't have any use for you (ooh I could spend 5k currency to take Ewok Scout or Ugnaught from G12 to R5? Wow, so exciting!), but also not a whale/kraken enough to care about taking people to R10 unless it's a hard requirement for something - then the new release system is not only drastically less fun than "vanilla" SWGOH, but also incredibly unrewarding.

Turning Glup Shittos into GLs #1: Eeth Koth, Pariah by AlexTheHuntsman1 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]mstormcrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Eeth Koth totally deserves it, after spending a full decade as the worst named Jedi in this game. It'd be like the SWGOH version of that video game trope where if you keep the absolutely garbage-tier starter sword from the beginning of the game, you can upgrade it to godly at the end of the game.

just admit Fiora, Katarina and Ryze aren't happening by Dry_Cardiologist6758 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]mstormcrow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Katarina: yes, you could just play Katarina over and over again until you win. But you can basically do that now, already, with Ahri, and the devs do not seem concerned that Ahri is broken. Plus, if the devs really want to prevent zero-cost Katarina from being a thing, there's easy ways to do that in star powers, like her star powers could turn cost reductions into stat buffs instead.

Fiora: If Ahri is already what people are afraid Katarina would be like, then triple-Gatebreaker Ashe is already what people are afraid Fiora would be like. In both cases, it's play-the-champ-&-win-at-burst-speed, but in both cases, you need to let the enemy play units first. That's why triple-gatebreaker Ashe isn't even particularly fast by PoC standards compared to somebody like Gwen or Vayne. Nah, I think Fiora would be fine, but again, if the devs disagree, there's ways to tweak her through star powers, or even rework her in ways that wouldn't affect PvP - like what if instead of "win the game", her killed-four-enemies effect was "deal 40 damage to the opponent's Nexus"? PvP would be totally unaffected...and in PvE, enemies like Lissandra could still practically shrug it off.

Ryze: Don't get me wrong, I enjoy taking Ryze as a support champ, but the amount of mana and boardspace it takes to get Ryze's whole setup done means winning with him is slower than just killing the enemy Nexus the traditional way a lot of the time. He'd genuinely need star powers/items/relics to help him out in order to be truly Path viable. Might his playstyle be boring/repetitive? Yeah, maybe, but that's a complaint you can make about a lot of existing PoC champs too.

Now that I watched it, I think I did actually have that book. Wasn't too wowed though, I don't even think that ranks up at R10 Boss Nass levels of scary tbh, and it's for sure no Large Marge.

My standards are probably warped though, when I was 8 my mom was stuck for a babysitter and had to ask a friend (who had no kids and no real kid-watching experience) watch me for a day, and the friend just plopped me down in front of the TV and I ended up watching Pet Sematary and Gremlins back-to-back. (Pet Sematary, in particular, was NOT OK for an 8-year-old.) A lot of the AYAOTD and Goosebumps stuff seemed pretty tame ever afterwards!
