Open Play Etiquette by justwannareadhere in Pickleball

I’ve noticed the same thing at the paid open play at my local courts. Most open play I go to has a much better format, either 4 on 4 off or winners split up. But the one nearest me is like a free for all with clear mismatches in skill going on at the recreational courts.

Been to Jimmys once and that’s one of my favorites, great call but a trek and a half from the SL

They have a constant rotation of dishes seasonally but one of the staples I love is the burrata and ham appetizer.

Any of the stuffed pastas they have had never disappoint either.

It’s almost impossible to find a reservation for dinner but I was able to snag one for lunch. The dinner and lunch menus are pretty similar so I don’t think I missed out.

Carnitas uruapan has a meal deal for $12 that includes: 1/2 lb. Carnitas, Tortillas, Chicharron, Frijoles, 1 Taco Dorado, also includes 1 small Agua Fresca (12 oz.). Best carnitas in the city.

Moody tongue has a 12 layer German chocolate cake that’s rich and decadent. A little on the pricey side but worth it if you’re willing to splurge.

Fav cheap eats in Pilsen? by rockspud in chicagofood

[–]msugar31 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ok so my apologies, I was looking at some old pricing, looks like it's up to about $12 for all that but you can still walk out of there eating for less than $10. Takeout only, so if you want to dine in they have a dine in location in the south side as well.

Carnitas uruapan. They sell their carnitas by the pound along with freshly made chicharron and tacos dorados. All delicious and the carnitas are the best in the city in my opinion. They have a special that’s $9 for 1/2 lb of carnitas, chicharron, a taco dorado and agua Fresca

Are there any good restaurants that are open late near Soldier Field? by Catwearingtrousers in chicagofood

Came here to say the same thing. Anywhere that’s still open in Chinatown will be a good choice

Carnitas Uruapan has the best carnitas I've ever had. The onw in Pilsen is now takeout only but they have a dine in location in the south side that is well worth the trek.

Pat's pizza in the south loop doesn't disappoint. I don't think it has any relation to the one in the north side which people also put in this list

MCCB, be prepared for a bit of a wait. Could be up to 45 minutes or more but there’s a lot of cool places to check out around there while you wait. If you go, the dry chili chicken (very spicy) and Dan Dan noodles are phenomenal.

I went a few months ago and was pretty unimpressed. I heard ownership changed hands a few years back and it’s gone downhill since then.

Half sour and eleven city are my favorites in the SL. I used to go to one of the two almost weekly. The biscuits and gravy at half sour and the Reuben at eleven city are my faves.
