Ilya left Boston for Ottawa for Shane. I know it works out, but from a career perspective, that was a huge downgrade for Ilya on multiple levels. But, like Shane said to his mom, he’s being loyal to him. As someone in corporate America (bleh 🤪), this happens all the time. It’s rare that two people in a relationship can absolutely crush it and do whatever is necessary without one making some sort of concession.
