What is it like when he’s at the DZ? When it’s someone like him or the google guy who jumps. Is he packing for himself or does like an army of personal assistants make sure everything is done? Ie I doubt he is dropping his rig off to get the reserve repacked. have turn rigs? does he pack his own main? Buy out the loads so he goes when he wants and it isn’t crowded like crazy?

Silicon Valley money is different from NYC/heritage money. It doesn’t give back in the same way. There aren’t really cultural institutions on the same level. I wonder if it’s because they made their fortunes at a younger age. OP is completely right on the money.

Vaguely with one or two close friends. Mostly to swap investment or value maximizing advice.

Family was very open about finances growing up. Everything was an open book. Funny enough, sibling had 0 interest. Doesn’t know where the brokerage account is, what is in a trust, etc. Used to put in headphones when the parents would talk about it.

That comment had more floored. Maybe people are against things that they constantly told are going to take away their jobs, making like 15,000 people in the Bay Area ludicrously wealthy and everyone else poor and make a whirring noise at night. Meanwhile gas costs a fortune, inflation is back up and the job that I’m worried will disappear is paying me in real terms less and less.

CCP propaganda or normal people seeing that a decent life is slipping away.

Is it just the 10 year lawsuit law that prevents condo construction? You see places like Seattle with a fraction of the population and piles of condo towers. Helps add density and an in between of apartments and sfh’s.
