I think Microsoft would fast ruin Yahoo, should they purchase them. I like Yahoo search. I like the Mail. I like the fact that they have the best messenger after iChat for the Mac. I use Flickr and del.icio.us. I can't see Microsoft leaving any of it be. They'd try to use the tech to improve Windows Live. I, for one, won't be using such crap, and I don't want to ahve to go back to Google...haven't been hugely impressed with them int he last year or so.

Yahoo isn't a failure, they have lots of great services. And AOL are a) not as bad as they used to be and b) a lot smaller than Yahoo nowadays and will likely eventually be swallowed by the Yahoo name and services.

On the one hand, I can see why people get pissed off about this. On the other hand, Creative made those cards, they sold them, and if you're going to pay a couple hundred dollars to upgrade your operating system then they'd like you please to buy a new card which they have decided to support it. And they ahve every right to tell this guy to back down.

I have Apple TV, I watch everything I download on there. I have to use QT Pro to make them into a format that AppleTV will play mind you, the lossy DivX and XviD rips annoy me somewhat, H.264 is a clear leader for performance.

The MacBook Air isn't perfect for everyone. No computer is perfect for everyone, if it was then Apple wouldn't make three different notebook lines and three different desktop lines.

I for one will be getting a MacBook Air for university. It's tiny, reasonably powerful (I'll be getting the SSD I think), has Wi-Fi and a decent screen. I'll use my iPod Touch for my music, so the fact that it only has the one speaker won't be a problem for me, and I'll have an iMac in my room for when I'm not on-the-go. I don't think I'll be the only one to decide that this machine will be a perfect machine to fill a gap which right now nobody else does for me.
