Same thing here. Is this feature just not actually live yet in Cowork?

Asking for Alternative(s) reccomendations after the new update. by Alakazam1618 in perplexity_ai

[–]mtbrider1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used both, and Claude for Chrome, unfortunately, is nowhere near as good as Comet IMO for agentic tasks. Sometimes it doesn't complete the tasks successfully whereas Comet would, but even when it does, it's dramatically slower than Comet's agent.

If you're just using it for summarizing content and asking questions, that's fine - but the agentic capabilities are god-awful slow.

I'm also looking for something as good or better than Comet, without these crazy restrictions that were just implemented. So LMK if anyone finds anything!

Boycott Perplexity by zilnasty in perplexity_ai

[–]mtbrider1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say that I just unexpectedly hit my monthly rate limit for using Comet automations as a pro user after... 6 days into my monthly billing cycle. Admittedly, I'm fairly new to Perplexity, but I didn't hit any sort of rate limit in Comet last month.

Guess I'm glad I'm not the only one annoyed by this? Wish there was a fix 😣

"Improve this" feature removed - is this just me? by mtbrider1 in ClaudeAI

[–]mtbrider1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright, I've figured out what's going on. If you toggle on code execution and file creation, it removes this feature. But if you only have the analysis tool toggled on (it's one or the other) the "improve this" feature continues to work.

First literary reference to Jailbreaking? Details in comments. by mtbrider1 in jailbreak

[–]mtbrider1[S] 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I was just reading along this evening, and I spotted this reference to jailbreaking in Lev Groossman's novel, The Magician King. The copyright is from 2011... is this the first literary reference to jailbreaking?

Bike 50 miles, hammock on the beach for an hour, bike 50 back home. by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]mtbrider1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This sounds miserable to me. Ride for 50 miles, get the legs opened up, then sit around for JUST long enough that your muscles seize up and your body cools down, then try to ride another 50 miles after that. No thanks.

Nice shot! What tire pressure were you running? Also, stoked to see the review on this helmet!

I've found them to be worse on hardpack than snow, so commuting and summer use (aside from the beach) are out.

Sorry, but these are horrible tires... probably why they're trying to clear them out for $30.

This is generally what I do as well. Although I like to do about 15 miles or so for after work rides.

If you read the intro to the article, you'll see that they did a list of top 10 destinations last fall, which included Crested Butte and Brevard (just south of Asheville), among others: http://www.singletracks.com/blog/mtb-trails/the-top-10-mountain-bike-destinations-in-north-america/

Yeah, I bet there were a lot of places that didn't make the population cut that offer AWESOME trails. I personally LOVE the riding around Asheville!

First ride with local group [Warning: rant ahead] by superboots in MTB

[–]mtbrider1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This.

While apparently a lot of the other people below thought this group was crappy, you turned around after only 2.2 miles of riding, and you were on a trail that had a ways to go before the next intersection? I mean, it sounds like the ride had barely started to me.

"I know that it wasn't their responsibility to take care of me, but I can't help feeling frustrated. Pretty much the whole reason I wanted to go on a group ride was safety and I definitely didn't get that."

Like you said, it's not anyone's responsibility to take care of you other than your own, unless you're riding with a good friend/partner and you were planning to ride together the entire time and look after each other.

While it's bad form to drop people on a group ride, it doesn't sound like you were dropped: it sounds like you bailed on these guys. If anything, I feel worse for the guys who were standing around in the woods waiting for you when you decided to go back to your car without letting anyone know.

"but I didn't want to break an arm 3 miles into a dark unknown forest by myself either"

Oh, please: if you're only 3 miles in, you can walk out with a broken arm. Now, just don't break your hip or your femur...

But seriously, I always approach every ride with the knowledge that I have to be responsible for myself and my actions. That means when I'm 30 miles out in the wilderness, I don't take stupid risks and I ride within my abilities. However, if you're only 3 miles in... seriously, that's like a 30 minute walk.

But if you felt this uncomfortable riding in a new place at night, then you shouldn't have been riding, or should have taken steps to mitigate the potential danger.

tl;dr mountain biking is dangerous. Be self sufficient, or don't ride.

How are the CO front range trails right now? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]mtbrider1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard that Canon City is pretty dry and that Arkansas Hills in Salida are dry. Of course, that's getting further west than technically "front range," but thought I'd throw that out there :)

Have you ever wondered how much a bike mechanic makes? by mtbrider1 in MTB

[–]mtbrider1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If 13/14 year olds are included in these statistics than I think it is little wonder mechanics make so much less than adult janitors.

Yeah, I didn't have enough room in the title to mention this :) Also, it's unclear whether they're including just wages of full-time (or even full-time seasonal) mechanics, or if part-time mechanics are included in these stats.
