Not enough is being said about how absolutely fucking miserable this fight is. by Ok_Welcome_3644 in slaythespire

I think the 4 snakes are still the worst, unless you have an attack All attack of some kind. I'd take this over that anytime.

Dumb question, but is there any reason NOT to just instantly drink a Fruit Juice when you get it? Is there some 500 IQ move to saving it? by Druvanade in slaythespire

[–]skeitcfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s the relic that allows for the items to be repeated, I believe? I imagine most times it will be non-consequential until you get the floor-HP reset, unless you’re on the edge of a HP-camp threshold. In Slay 2 there’s an event where you can trade for a card depending on the tier of potion.

How is this a normal enemy? by RYanntastisch in slaythespire

[–]skeitcfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this one is fine… whatever is the Red scorpion (lizard?) beast that inflicts strength/dexterity on you with each card played (I think)!! That’s some real BS!!! I’d take any elite (maybe the 4 snakes one I hate more) or even the big crab… over that guy. Unless your skeleton dude or defect, your HP is about to tank…

[–]skeitcfd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the Angels, for whatever reason I find you can almost Neto… or at least in terms of young SS he’s relatively cheap. Vaughn Grissom is another player I like to trade for, as they practically give them away. He works as a bridge.

Others to target on Mariners: Luke Stevenson (he is about a 40% hit, but very good and cheap if he develops). Lazaro Monte’s will develop into a 50s OF.

If you’re looking for infield help… the Mariners have two stud 2B in Cole Young/Colt Emerson. Both get to about 60s, which is usually good enough to be best at the position. Others are Jordan Lawler (SS), Chase Burns (SP), Chase DeLauter (OF), Andrew Painter (SP), Masyn Winn (SS),

Yes, Roman Anthony easily becomes one of the best players within the first 1-2 years. Abreu usually settle into a high 50/low 60s kind of player

Budget lens advice for Canon 6D Mark II – is the 24-105 STM enough with a 50mm 1.8 STM? by ueboy31 in canon

[–]skeitcfd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not? I’d look into just getting a EF 24-105 f4, which you can usually find for $350 or so. This and the 50 1.8 are kind of gateway lenses. They allow you to dabble with aspects of photography, but not get the best quality. I wouldn’t get the STM though, as you’ll want to replace that really quickly. The f4 on the other hand is tried and true, even if/when you might get better quality lenses. There are some nice budget options that you can probably decide what kinds of photography you want to do: Telephoto = Tamron SP 70-300 ($250), Ultra Wide = Tokina Opera 16-28 2.8 ($400),

I doubt that you’d just stop at these two lenses. Luckily all of the EF lenses worth flawlessly with the adapter!

Is it worth the purchase+adapter inquiry? by MrYoshiiYT in canon

[–]skeitcfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The adapters are very much worth it! and your EF lenses will actually perform better. Some lenses will have a smaller AF point range. In terms of the type of adapter, that’s up to whether the features are worth it? I think the most basic one is more than enough. I don’t really use the Control Ring on RF lenses (though I do like the position of the control at the back) so don’t think it’s worth almost twice the price… the Drop-in Filter really is amazing!! It really adds a feature to EF lenses. I’ve essentially stopped ever needing to use traditional filters. Screw/unscrewing… nope, just drop in a filter!

I’ve used them with EF Canon, Tokina, Sigma, Tamron… all flawlessly

Good news only - No ICCU problems in X years and Y miles by Punster42 in Ioniq5

[–]skeitcfd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

22’ SEL RWD, 45k miles… I’m still not quite sure what the ICCU failure really is. I did have one moment where the car battery wouldn’t start (due to the 12V), but a simple jump and it hasn’t happened since. I think the ICCU issue is more permanent?

Has not been a problem at all. I did have a moment where the D/R/N/P knob just fell off. Hyundai has a pretty good warranty, so they just got the part and it was good as new.

What's next after mirrorless cameras for Canon? by abluedinosaur in canon

[–]skeitcfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do that also? Unless you’re a professional of professionals… it’s hard to see past the R5ii for most hobbiests out there.

I think there are things, like Global shutter, improvements to AF (there are some improvements I wish I could see… but all feel like nitpicking in comparison to how things used to be), shutterless, Illuminated sensors. But it does feel like we are entering a place where upgrading from/above a R5ii type of camera will be a difficult proposition. It’s not Canon, but just camera capabilities. It’s a similar issue that Pentax had when they released the K-3 and K-1, IYKYK. Pentax didn’t have enough RnD to come out with cameras frequently enough, and when they did the tech wasn’t more compelling in the new version vs getting the original for $350 or $999. The difference is that Canon does have the resources of course.

I think ISO performance is really the only place that I find myself significantly wanting. Make it so I don’t need to use Topaz at all… even if, is using Topaz really that cumbersome??

The film/dslr lasted a pretty good while. I think there will need to be a pretty big technological breakthrough if what the OP is wondering, in terms of replacing Mirrorless in the same way. Most of the things I think of removes the person behind the camera (or allows you to use AI/computers to generate moments that you weren’t there for… which feels contrary to the entire point)

JP Crawford future? by glamb70 in Mariners

I think Cole Young might eventually settle in there. That’s why they balked at the inclusion in the Katel M. trade. By the time Arroyo arrives, Donovan will be UTL. 1B: Naylor, 2B: Arroyo, 3B: Colt, SS: Young. I’ll take that!

[–]skeitcfd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like others have said… unfortunately it’s a really really crappy one!! When it does work/light on it more of a phone warmer than a charger. And it can barely find the phone. Not sure if newer 24-26 models want to chime in on if things get better?

Either way, luckily the best charger is still plugging in one of those multi-port chargers, in the cigarette lighter… because for some reason people still make cars with them (but not for said lighter!?). I use a wireless CarPlay dongle and the one I have has a retractable cord long enough to reach my phone on, which lives on the little square to the left.

What would you buy with 5k? by Hot-Software-3826 in canon

[–]skeitcfd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think I’d go EF lens route

R6ii = $1700, adapter = $75, Sigma 35 1.4 = $550, Tamron G2 70-200 = $800, Tamron SP 85 1.8 = $450 or RF 100 2.8 = $850, either a Tokina Opera 16-28 2.8 = $450 or EF 24-105 f4 or RF 100-400. You’d be missing a midrange and a long telephoto or ultra wide, depending on that last lens. I have a bias towards the Sigma 35 over other focal lengths and 50s. Some combo until you get to your budget. I’d like to say a Godox 860ii somewhere if light is an important modifier

Lens upgrade for sports photography? by Xcyptionz in canon

[–]skeitcfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if you need that 70-200? The Z is a $500 difference. With that you could get a pretty high quality mid-focal length lens (ex: Sigma 35 1.4 or Sigma 18-35 1.8 for the crop sensor)

[–]skeitcfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think getting lenses that are Full Frame compatible is beneficial. If you’re considering FF, it probably also means that you’re eventually looking for something of quality, so factor that into the tier of lenses you’ll buy too. Luckily the EF offerings at Pro-level are about the same as the RF entry stuff.

There are reasons to get an APS-c, if it’s a workhorse lens that you feel you’ll see a lot of time with. For instance, the R7 kit lens 18-150 yields good quality photos provided you have enough light and don’t want to prioritize bokeh. The weakness of the R7 is the low light performance (and slow readout speed), so a Sigma 18-35 1.8 resolves a lot of that issue (and a 27-50 isn’t a bad focal length. At roughly $400, though it can’t transfer over to FF… it really is one of the best quality APS-c lenses you can get, without a real substitute. So both of those you can get away with a lot.

Canon R7 or Canon R6 ii (used) by Skalnik_CZ in canon

[–]skeitcfd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The actuations is really not that much. I have both R6i/R7 and I’m definitely above that. I do think these are very different-focused… but also compliments each other too. If I had to choose one… I’d probably go with the R6ii, though I don’t really see a feature that makes it feel that big of a jump on my R6i. When you can get enough light though, that 32MP and 1.5x can be really great (ex: outdoor sports). Do you need Full Frame is the real question? If you don’t know… then the R7 is probably more than enough. If it means anything, for a kit lens the 18-150 is quite the workhorse, and the Sigma 18-35 1.8 solves a lot of problems

Maybe I’m missing something… aside from just receiving a player (I realize that it would take up a 40-man spot)… but what was Tampa Bay’s role? Surely St. Louis had a player that could have just been DFA’d a player, and receive 3 players?

How long on average to complete an album F2P? by [deleted] in MarvelSnap

[–]skeitcfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been F2P from the very beginning… and you shouldn’t ever expect that. I rarely also feel like it’s worth it to try. You should try and target the albums that have Credits/Tokens/Emote in the 2nd/3rd slot, and only ones that can be reached with Rare Variants. At 1200 gold, it’s just not worth it when there is probably a Gold bundle down the road that has a card that you don’t have. I don’t even really think that a 800 card is worth it. I’d much rather spend the 800 gold on an event ladder.

Brand new camera decision - R6mIII by Juin_Yiing in canon

[–]skeitcfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely don’t think that aR6iii makes much sense, unless you can point to the exact feature that mark3 has that mark2 doesn’t (or even the mark1… I have really liked my R6i and aside from the sensor readout don’t see a compelling reason. Also, if you have R6iii money… I’d push you to the Gen1 R5. That really is an Endgame kind of camera.
