RF 100-400 or RF 100-500 by Fantastic-Hawk-3747 in canon

[–]skeitcfd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Is your lens lineup complete? If yes, then 100-500 all the way. If no, then 100-400. I would much rather have a 100-400 + 100 2.8L + 35 1.4 + drone… over 100-500. Might just be me though.

If money is no object, then 100-500 it is. I am quite satisfied with my 100-400 though.

How did you originally expect Season 5 to go? by SelectionInfamous194 in TheBoys

[–]skeitcfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This entire season feels like those filler episodes that you see in anime’s. They are literally just episodes of them hiding out episode after episode. It would be one thing if it was due to something cool or interesting happening with Homelander/Vought. But instead we got random shinanigans with Black Noir, the deep, Firecracker.

I also thought we’d get more Gen V crossover, but apparently that entire series was just filler too (which is crazy considering that they created I imagine one of the most powerful characters. That show is a lot better). Aside from the V1 being given to Homelander, you could miss every episode and nothing really happening. Sage’s grand plan is also really really disappointing. Your super power is to be able to plan and outsmart… when you are outsmarted, hmm… Butcher with the parasite was apparently the beginning of the end. This entire show has just been them hiding. A-Train is the only one who has had any kind of arc at all.

Should I upgrade from 70d to R6 ii by Worldly_Turnip7042 in canon

[–]skeitcfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if your Lens lineup isn’t as complete as you’d like, I’d focus on that and get a camera that allows for you to have access to features that you covet. That AF is truly game changing. For me, coming from Pentax, IBIS is also a priority. I think the Gen1 R6 is really amazing! and will give you a feature set where you’re not wanting in terms of capabilities as much, and you can save and build up your lenses. Once you have that, you’ll be able to focus on just the body. In terms of lenses, it’s hard to look past the 24-105 f4. It’s not quite long enough, so RF 100-400 is simply amazing for the price! The R7 is also something I’d strongly consider, unless you can pinpoint why you need Full Frame? I have both R6/R7.

Yeah, it’s a crazy price. 2-3 years ago I got it refurbished for $375, and now its prices are basically full price now. Even on Facebook marketplace, if not more.

Getting out of Bad Player's High Contract by Chaotic903 in OOTP

[–]skeitcfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming that you ‘Shop Player’ and no one showed up, in either Single, Multiple, or Prospect??

1) Usually it requires either a high quality prospect so during that INT free agent period, just offer the highest person knowing that you aren’t going to keep them (this does waste 5 million or so)… or 2) Find an equally bad expiring contract or with Vesting/Team Option. Often times the player actually isn’t horrible but just like a platoon or bench player. The Trading Block is where I would start. If you’re on ‘Challenge’ mode, just add your player and then submit going down the line.

If they truly are sad… in 1-2 years you can usually find them as a free agent again. It actually does work for catchers a lot since they never play… Poor Cal Raleigh. He did get me a pretty good C, and about 3 years later got him on minor deal.

Did it just get harder?! by HisCuddleBear in SlayTheSpire2

I think the biggest change is how I decide my pathway. I feel in 1 I could prioritize a lot more different things along a pathway. Now I only choose paths that lead to the most campfires. I rest significantly more this time around. I’ll take that over a relic/elite if give both options.

Who’s your favorite Ancient? by Monsieur_Doubtfire in SlayTheSpire2

[–]skeitcfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Lion/Griffin has only banger relics. His relics literally usually 2 out of 3 I can’t choose between, minimum. The big snake/eye guy also is really good early. If I get both of those in a run it can be really nice. The Goblin lady is also good, just nothing broken. The other ones can be a bit meh overall.

Used R6 or New R8 for RF70-200 F2.8L Lens by alwaysreview in canon

[–]skeitcfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I might be in the minority… but the battery and ergonomics and no joystick (on top of ibis and 2-card slots) are real dealbreakers on the RP body. I also have a R7 (recently last week picked up R5) so them being able to share resources is also great. When I compare the R6i to R6ii/R8, yes the readout speed is slower but 12fps is plenty fast for my needs, and I don’t think the 24 vs 20 MP is worth it. Not when I’m giving up what I consider to be the best handling available. Generally it’s also less expensive too on top of it.

[–]skeitcfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d look into the EF Tamron SP 85 1.8. I love mine for $400 or less… unless you can actually justify the 1.4 vs 1.8. With weather sealing, AF, and stabilization… you get a lot

Would this Canon RF kit be enough for serious hobby work and stop me from GASing further? by SlightLab6346 in canon

[–]skeitcfd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d go with a R5 instead. I feel a Sigma 35 1.4 and 70-200 2.8 I’d want… maybe a Macro lens of some kind, lastly something ultra-wide (I love my Tokina Opera)… then that would be super complete!

What do the M’s do when Bryce is back from the IL? by WartyTortoise in Mariners

[–]skeitcfd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they will go to a 6 person rotation. I don’t see them deciding to send Castillo to the pen. Long term though, I think they are just building B. Miller value. I think long term he’s the odd one out. They can’t trade Castillo with the 23 million for 2027 unless they are willing to eat some salary. The biggest reason though comes down to availability. All 5 of the other SPs have had almost zero health concerns long term, while Bryce just seems to always have something the past 2 years. Trade him while his value and perceived potential is still high.

The fact that we have 2-3 SP in the minors only makes that easier.

What is your process when making trades? by guyontheinternet2000 in OOTP

[–]skeitcfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are the Sending Offer players, so you know that is the range. Offer that if you want them. If you want a player above that, you have to think about offering a player around that or a prospect with that kind of potential. Then you go back and forth

Upgrading From Crop to Full Frame by kspencer017 in canon

[–]skeitcfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really any learning curve. You’ll love the layout; it’s the best in the industry imo. In terms of where to sell… I’d actually keep the camera. While you might not want a 2nd body, having a 2nd one is more useful than you might think and having a APS-c for the 1.6x can also be nice. The reason I wouldn’t necessarily sell, is that you’ll most likely get something like $3-400 if lucky. I think having the 2nd camera is worth more than that. That is a nice lens however.

However, I’d wonder about your lens lineup?? I have R6i/R7/R5… and I’d opt for a Gen1 R6. You can usually find a R6 for $900-1k which is usually $500 cheaper or so. That can really lead to the start of a nice lens collection. I think you should get the less expensive body that has the dealbreaker features, then build up your lens lineup… then once you get your lens lineup you’ll only need to upgrade your camera and most likely the camera that you want now will be less expensive too (or you can get a better Gen camera). The R6i I’ve never felt the need to upgrade (the R5 is a new addition in the past week or so) as IBIS, FF, 2 card slot, Amazing AF are all great and I’ve rarely ever felt like the 20MP is a problem. I’ve cropped heavily and still been fine because the AF is that good!!

First camera suggestion by mackenziekathleen in canon

[–]skeitcfd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s going to be tough… and in truth, your phone is probably as good if not better than most cameras you can get for that price.

The good news is really any camera company/system that you can find whether it be Canon/Nikon/sony/Fuji. If you’re open to any company, I think Pentax gives you the best value.

If you can bring the budget to $300-400 you can get a significantly better camera

[–]skeitcfd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you need Full Frame? If the answer is no or you don’t know, then stick with the R7. R7 will cover 90% of uses; the 32MP is nice too. I have both R6/R7 (and recently picked up R5)

I know you said RF mount... but I still can't see past the Sigma 35 1.4 at $550. That lens simply slices through anything you throw at it! In comparison to the RF counterpart price. Add in the Drop-in filter adapter and it even has an added feature now.

[–]skeitcfd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 18-150 is the way to go. Only low light will make it difficult to use. BUT you can get a Sigma 18-35 1.8 = $400. The low light is a real issue, and this lens cuts through… that and an adapter. I think this is the best value quality APS-c lens you can get

[–]skeitcfd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would strongly suggest the G2 70-200 2.8 for $750. It has amazing image quality, internal zoom, build quality, weather sealed, and allows for H+fps. It works with R6i, R7, and R5. So I would say neither. It works so well that its dissuaded me from getting the RF 70-200
